I swear it was only yesterday that I saw her. Her long blond hair tied up with two pink loopy ribbons in pig tails, her cute pug nose dusted by a sprinkling of freckles, her sweet, high-pitched voice calling out Mommy, the two of us happily living in a fairytale world...and then she just disappeared--poof.
I suspect it is my fault she went missing. You see, I broke a cardinal rule of motherhood--never blink. Because if you do, time will go forth at such rapid speed that you can hardly catch your breath. Your little child will change over night--or so it will seem.
It is so bittersweet, this transformation. My little girl is missing, but in her place she has been replaced by another treasure.

My oldest just started her freshman year in High School...sniff, sniff.

Mamas, hold on to your babies for as long as you can, cherish each and every moment because I can guarantee you will one day blink...and when that day arrives simply celebrate the next season you are given.

She is really beautiful!!! I know exactly what you are saying because my babies are missing, too. My youngest will be 10 in February, and is now considered "pre-teen". It just breaks my heart!!
Beautiful!! you done good mama!!!
I know your pain because my daughter is missing also. She is17 a senior & she is already driving!! Enjoy these years because they really do go fast!!!
Oh my! That is exactly what I needed to hear today. I've spent the weekend wishing my daughters were older, or at least old enough to understand consequences, etc. I think I'll just take a step back and enjoy them for who they are now. The rest will come before I know it. Thanks for the reminder!
She is very cute.... my oldest also started his freshman year last week. It has gone by way too fast.
She has beautiful eyes! the color of the dress compliments them very well. :)
She is so beautiful. And not to get off the subject, but that top photo of the blue dress--didn't she put one of her brothers in it with makeup?
