The Adventures of BooBerry

Mind Wonderings of an Adoptive Mom-To-Be

I work for a small nonprofit organization.  This time of the year is always our most chaotic and hectic because of our fundraising efforts.  Lately my boss (in an office of only 3 people) has been offering up our free time/time off/personal time to companies, and events.

I get that I need to step up this time of year to help, but I'm really getting tired of being forced to work 6 or 7 days a week with promise of time off and that never happening.  I spent all last Saturday working an event with my boss.  He did absolutely nothing.  Showed up late so I had to set up by myself, left early so I had to tear down by myself and spent most of the day talking on the freaking phone.  I have almost a week worth's of comp time already and no day in sight of when I might get to take time off.

This weekend I have out of town guest coming in and am suppose to work with my sister-in-law to help her finish favors and other wedding prep for our wedding the following weekend. Now he wants me to do presentations the whole day for almost 10 hours.  Are you freaking kidding me?????

I told him, I am booked on Saturday with family obligations to which he tells me "we'll discuss your Satuday work schedule later."  WTF!!!!!

How much more do I need to put on with on this, not like I don't work every freaking day he asks me to work until this day?  Last year I had tickets to a concert (they were a birthday gift) and because he changed the date on a meeting I had to miss the concert.  Ruined the gift and my night.  I was pissed.  Still am.

If I knew I could have a job within a few days I would walk today but in the economy we are in now, I don't dare even threaten.
