The New Me! (coming soon)

Please, if you have pets.  Be it cats, dogs, or whatever, PLEASE...

Don't drop them off...

If your kitten is growing up, and you can't afford to have her fixed...

If your cat is having issues with clawing things...

Or you just don't have the time...

Please, find them a home...even if it's at a shelter.

I hate to say take them to a shelter, but some times it's better.

And PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER your pets...

I have, right now, 5 cats and kittens here.

2 of them are mine.  I picked them up a different places.

The other 3 are rescues...

Here are their stories...

This is Bob...

Bob is a female, Hemingway Manx.  Which means, she has extra toes on her front paws.  She looks like she's wearing mittens.  And she has a bobbed tail, like a Bobcat.

She was born in my Uncles garage.  Her other 2 litter mates died.  The mother never came back to take care of them.  This Momma cat has litters twice a year in my Uncles garage, and he never finds them until it's too late.  This one was a fighter.  She never quit.  She's about 5 months old now, and a sweetheart...

This little girl is Rexie.

My sister found her in her back yard.  She is very skinny, she's been on her own for a while.  I believe she was dropped off along the road somewhere near my sisters house.  Her dog tried to eat it.  The poor thing was trying to eat one of the dogs bones, and didn't even back away when the dog came at her...

That picture was taken about an hour after we brought her home.  Does she look like a stray to you?

I didn't think so.  She's about 5 months old as well.  Prime age to be spayed.  I believe someone thought they couldn't afford her vet bill, so they dropped her off.  Why do I believe that?

She has only had 1 single accident since she's been here.  She's not shy, or scared.  She loves being picked up and carried around.  The first person to hold her was my DD3, and she never tried to run.  Just snuggled right up to her...

This poor little guy has had the worst story of all...

My Aunt called me one day to come to her farm.  A car had dropped off 4 kittens in her front yard a few days earlier.  These kittens couldn't have been more than 10 weeks old.  Some one following the car stopped and picked up 2 of the kittens.  The other two ran and hid.

The first kitten found a home at a nearby farm with a mother who had recently had a litter of kittens herself.

This is the second kitten.  3 days after they were dropped off, my Aunt could hear him crying.  Her dog was going nuts trying to find it.  Myself and my DS5 crawled through the field looking for this little guy.  He'd been there for 3 days already.  We found him.  Scared and hungry.

He's been with us for over 2 months now.  He's a loving cat, and a wonderful mouser, lol.

So...

Now I have 3 kittens...almost cats.  That I didn't plan to have.  All three of them could have died.  And probably WOULD have.

And to see them now.  Cared for, and happy, I can't imagine why ANYONE would just throw them away.  Or let them died.

2 of these stories never would have happened had people taken the time to have their pets spayed or neutered.

The other one...is a simple case of if you can't afford the vet ills, don't get a pet.  Or, if you MUST have a pet, there are PLENTY of them in the shelters who are already fixed and need a home.

Please, don't throw your animals away.

I'll be taking all 3 of them tomorrow to be fixed and get their rabies shots.  I'm footing the bill for cats that people thought they could just throw away.

They are livng breathing animals.  They deserve better.

These sweethearts are looking for forever homes now.

But it could have been much, much different...much sadder.

I ca't stand to see them starving and freezing, just because someone couldn't put away the little bit of money it takes to have them spayed or neutered.  Or for that $5 bag of cat food.

Please, don't do this...

And if you are in NE Ohio, and are looking for a companion, and can give them a forever home, feel free to contact me...

Update - They all made it home safe and sound.  They are being treated for worms, because our newest Rexie had them.  We also found out, the the gray one, Mouser, is actually a girl, lol.  Ooops.  When we brought HER home, lol, I thought she was a boy, and never checked again.  But, she's fixed now, so either way, lol.  They also removed an ulcerated growth from Rexie's tongue, so hopefully she feels better...

They are still a little doped up, well quite a bit, the pain killers will wear off in 24 hours, so another 18 hours or so.

They did well, and never meowed once while they were there.  The ladies in the office were very surprised at how gentle and loving they were, especially for being in a strange place.  Not one scratch from any of time.

And the total breakdown was $275.

3 - Spay + rabies + Feline leukemia and aids test - $85 each (one of them was $42 (the buy one get one half off))

3 - Pain meds - $8 each

3 - deworming medicines - $12, $12 and $15

These little girsl will be ready for a new home as soon as Monday, providing there are no issues over the weekend.

www.neuterscooter.com These are people who charge only $40 to fix your cat, I live in Oregon and I have several cats I am taking to them when they come back to town. They only service 4 or 5 states but Ohio is one of them.

We actually have a full time place here that charges $85 for females, and $65 for males.  But this month it's buy one, get one half off, lol.  Which is half the reason I waited to have them done.  I can't wait any longer, the Bob loves to go outside, and sometimes she makes through my legs and gone before I can catch her.

I really do not have the information, right now.

The humane society does this for cheap but you have to call them and make an appointment. I just had my little farm cat I rescued fixed and all his shots up to date. And they did all of it for 50 dollars.

I think also, (not that this helps a lot of people) but when elderly people adopt from the humane society...there is no cost for the spay/neuter.
