Blurbs from an everyday mom...

I need a dessert for a picnic this weekend. It need to be enough for 8 adults and 9+ kids and it should be easily transported... All I'm coming up with so far is cookies or dessert bars of some kind (or both). Anyone have any other ideas? The other families are bringing fried chicken, sides and drinks.

If you have a large bowl you can make a trifle.  It won't look as nice without a trifle bowl but it all works the same way.  You can make a really easy one with brownies, chocolate pudding, some berries or other fresh fruit, and whipped topping.  Just layer it and serve with a spoon.  I've made it a few times and it's always been well received and fed plenty.

Should have mentioned any flavor pudding would work, and you can also use cake instead of brownies, just make the cake in a jelly rool pan if you have one.  The brownie, cake, whatever should be bite sized.
