Ok so I'm not one to keep a journal but I needed some where to put my thoughts. When my son Silas was born last January we had to see a pediatric heart specialist. He had been breathing really fast and as new parents my husband and I thought it was normal. At his one month check up the doctor noticed his breathing and said that it should have stopped after two weeks. So she sent us off to the pediatric cardiologist at one of the better hospitals about 40 miles away. Well after an EKG and heart ultrasound the doctor said he had a hole in his heart. He also told us that baby's are born this way but close up 5-10 days after birth. Thankfully the doctor said more than likely it would close up on its and to come back when Silas was 8 months. So here we are 6 months later and we are going back on wednesday. I admit I'm pretty nervous. Although Silas' breathing slowed way down after a few weeks from the visit and he is developing extremely fast. I can't help but worry. I just pray that everything is ok and that the doctor will say it healed up nicely. Guess I won't know for a few more days...I'll just keep my head up and think happy thoughts!
