Hello all! I was totally inspired by the letter a week website to start something that structured a little bit of learning and a little less vegging into our day. Anywho, I have list and scheduling OCD,and it's crazy. I plan on starting next week on Monday. Instead of 26 weeks, we're doing 44 weeks (until the end of July). I'm not worried about holidays off, because I don't imagine the work being too much worky work for a 2 year old. I've actually hacked the original letter a week structure to death, but I don't feel guilty. I'm trying to follow the natural year, and holidays, to the best of my ability. I've seperated the months into units with 1-3 lessons that have to do with the main unit them (i.e. unit on fall, lesson on apples). Each still has a letter, a number, a shape/color, and a vocab work Lilith doesn't know yet associated with the lesson. I should be hitting basics such as meals/cooking, reading, counting, rhyme/song/dance, the learning board, arts and crafts, and critical thinking (to a pretty minute degree) every day. So far, I wanted to share my seasonal outline with you guys (Jan. is family because I'm due in Feb), as well as my plans for lesson 1, just imagine that the activities are spread evenly over two weeks and include meals and cleaning and nap time and baths and play outside time (well, if it ever stops raining)... oh, full day! lol

spread over the next two weeks we will be fall, apples, A, 1, red, orchard:
baking apple pie
dipping apples in caramel,
hiding and gathering apples
gluing felt apples to a paper tree
creating out first unit/lesson board
finding red apples
gluing an orchard to the lesson board
coloring the letter A
searching out A's, 1's or one of things, and red things in old magazines
making a macaroni A
coloring ONE of something with the color RED
eating red MnMs
making cookies with only red MnMs
