A Photodocumentary post with as few words as possible.  That's hard for me to do, judging by how much I talk :D  Every picture was taken by me (expect two by a friend, as noted).  We are having a dry autumn it seems and the colors are not as vibrant as they usually are.  The trees in wet spots are bright, but it is hard to photograph with NO SUN.  If you want to see the good stuff, check out my pictures from Maryland!  You might also be interested in the other posts in our Autumn series.

See, look at those clouds!  This is the normal cloud cover for us until March!! We'll have a few sunny days, but lots of clouds until spring.

I have been watching these oaks in my backyard turn for a few weeks.  They are very slow this year but with some bright red spots.  Sorry the pictures are so dark (no sun).

My neighbor has some very interesting BRIGHT purple plant growing in two places in his garden.  I wonder what they are??

The tips on the blue spruces are nicely blue this year, even though it doesn't look like it in the picture.

These trees are pretty bright but the sky was not.

The funny Catulpa trees go right from green to black and crispy!

Bright red "fire bushes" line the cemetery.

A friend took a walking trip about an hour east of hear.  It looked pretty gloomy there, too, judging on her pictures.  She did give me permission to post this one in my collection.

I hope you are enjoying your autumn.  We have had some frost and could get snow anytime now......

Lovely! Thanks for sharing - I won't get back up to WNY until after all the leaves are gone. You gave me a little taste and I so appreciate it!!

Yup, I'll admit it--I opened this post! And thank goodness. The photos are wonderful! Don't much like NY state winters, but your fall and spring seasons I do miss. Hope you'll do a springtime photo journal when the time comes. :)

I live in Upstate NY near Rochester. We've had lots of rain here & the leaves have almost all fallen off the trees. Where are these pictures taken? They are beautiful!

I miss this and this only about upstate NY!  I still have leaves pressed and saved from them falling off the trees.. they're in GA with me, I pull them out and reminisce :-)  Love Autumn and spring and the clear lakes you can swim in with no chance of getting eaten by an alligator, lol! Thanks!

Beautiful photos, even with a cloudy sky. Personally, I love brilliant colors like against the gray- I like the contrast.

Cool pictures.  Indian Summer is my favorite time of the year.  New York isn't much difference from Ohio.
