Dear Caleb

I watch you sleep right now & as always, I am amazed. You'll be two soon yet you never cease to amaze you. I don't see how anyone couldn't take 30 seconds out of their "busy day" to see what you wanted to show them. ..it breaks my heart to be honest. Today you wanted to show daddy the new "bracelet " (mine lol) you were wearing. I told you he was on the phone so he probably wouldn't notice...you looked up at me with those beautiful blue eyes & said "I know". That broke my heart. I'm sorry you tried to show daddy yesterday you can drink out of your big boy cup & he didn't even look up from texting. I'm sorry he doesn't want to play with you more.

Its not you son. It's not your fault. He is the one missing out. He is the one that will one day look back & realize how few memories he has of you. He is the one that will regret this. Son. Its not you. You are beautiful. You are smart. You are funny, sweet, helpful. You are amazing. You are love.

So I'll do my best. I'll try to be the one. ..I will hold you in my arms when you feel lonely. I will kiss your boo boos & praise you. I will run with you outdoors &  take you for walks. I do this now & i will continue. & I will keep trying to make your dad realize how little time he gives you. Yes he is busy with work & school but giving you a few minute a day. ..just to notice your pretty bracelet *lol* or what a big boy you are. .well son it breaks my heart

Know this Caleb. It's never your fault. You are a wonder. You are a blessing. You are a miracle. Your laughter is the music that moves the world, your eyes make the ocean pale in comparison & your smile puts the sun to shame. Your beauty & grace  & everything that is good in this world.

I love you Caleb Grant. & Daddy does too. He might not always show it . .but i know he does & i pray he'll wake up soon & see how fast time flies. & how wonderful you are every second of the day.

I love you son. You are my sunrise

Sweet post (what you said to your son). NOT the part about Dad missing out. So sad. :( I hope he wakes up too...because the foundation he lays NOW will make a difference later.

Maybe you cuold find something that you need to do alone...leave your son with his Dad...promote them spending time together....plan an activity for them to do alone...the Park, Playground, the Zoo.

Good Luck.

But it was up to me to be creative and it did work well. I think as long as you are in the house your boy will be wanting you. But when your out hasving mama time Caleb and dad will have some fun.
