Need Help With Curtain

Hi everyone, I'm in the process of doing my family room over and I'm looking for some advice on curtains. I have to large sliding windows on either side of the room and I'm thinking of putting up some new valances. Haven't shopped for curtains in such a long time have no idea where to begin. Have any suggestions?? Unfortunately I'm not handy with a sewing machine so my only option is to buy or have someone make them for me.
