So I was gone for a while... anyone miss my oversharing??! LOL
I took 22 days of vacation to complete our move... due to my hubby having two ruptured discs- I literally *handled* almost everything that was moved. I (with a dolly) moved our chest freezer, frig, washer, almost every box... my arms look great- lost my *wings* and they are defined and muscular again!! and I lost my tummy blob/roll... didn't think either of those ugly items were ever going to disappear!!
I made it all the way through ( I also refinished 6 pieces of furniture and helped hubby build a 200' fence to contain the animals)... on the last day my fibromyalgia flared up- it was as if I was holding myself together with mental energy and once we were out of that nasty old house and in the nice new one- I collapsed... but the flare wasn't too bad!! Although I have had bronchitis for 2 1/2 weeks now- due to the dust/mold and then to my coworkers lovely habit of coming in to work with their germs I then caught a nasty cold.
(When asked why I was at work while sick I let them know that I will be there sick if I got it at work- if they wish for me to stay home then they can take up a collection and pay to do so!!!) besides- the same people complaining that I came in sick would have also bitched and moaned behind my back if I had called in- I am difficult to replace/cover and it makes the night go poorly when I call in...
The new place is smaller than the other (we kinda forgot about the attic full of stuff so had to rent a storage unit until I can sort and toss/donate).
I have been hard at work organizing, putting away and getting rid of stuff. We have a giant community rummage sale this weekend- I donated a carload!! And we made several trips to the dump and filled a dumpster...
More to come or go!! lol as well... I have (family) pack rat tendencies... and due to my grrls' seeming inability to keep their hands out of/off of my stuff and my health issues- well our house was an embarrassing disaster... hubby and grrls are both onboard to make this a better home though... and that is what I need... I refuse to be the only one around here who does anything!!! So before- nothing got done!!
Now it is teamwork!! Hubby and I's room is gorgeous and he is so pleased!! he can't stop commenting on how nice everything is... so he is cooperating and helping... and the grrls are finally *getting* that there is no one to do it for them and that I mean it when I say I will throw it away if I find it on the floor!!!
So far so good- we are all establishing better habits...
and living so much closer to town and work has been awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
the dogs are very happy as well- Bella is finally off of her line and is a different dog- so calm now... so loving... she was so ... bouncy before no one wanted to spend much time with her.
The grrls commented this am on the way in to school that they were so happy to NOT have (red Army) ants crawling on them while they slept!! And we have been enjoying the quiet that comes from NOT having rodents living in your walls!!!
I'm very proud of all of us... we are making our lives better...
...and I am looking into joining the Army National Guard as a way to allow us to move forward even more... we'll see...
Comments:
I hate nagging, so I don't... I pretty much just let everyone see what happens when they do not participate in housework- it got kinda gross though... although it did eventually work. But most people don't have my staying power!!! It took years!!! And I made sure that hubby and I were happy ( if I wasn't doing housework- I decided I would *do* lol him and eventually he saw that making ME happier would lead to even more goodness for him... lol)
A fresh start is a great motivator. Sorting through everything is hard work, but in the end it will be so rewarding.
We had to do the same thing when we moved from our apartment to our house. There is barely any closet space and our attic is consumed by our air conditioning ducts. Being a pack rat isn't an option! Anyhow, I am glad that things are going so well...thanks for the update :-)
