I don't know if many of you know this, but I've recently embarked on a new chapter in my life.
As it stands, I'm morbidly obese. I weigh a... lot.
This week when I went shopping, I was armed with facts and a list. I stayed out of the "middle" aisles and bought many fruits, veggies and other "whole" foods. I switched from hamburger to lean ground turkey, from sour cream to fat free plain yogurt. Whole grain breads and pastas. Planned all my meals (including snacks) using a healthy meals website. Lots of little changes that will add up to a big huge life change.
I said good-bye to fast food about a month ago, and I feel better for it. When my husband wants to have that, I order the small side salad with low fat Italian dressing.
I've also started walking, or getting some form of vigorous exercise. I know walking doesn't sound vigorous, but I'm not just strolling. I'm walking very fast for about a half hour. And keep in mind my weight, and it IS vigorous for ME. Soon, I'll be going for longer walks and eventually I'll start jogging.
I just got back from today's walk and I'm TIRED. haha My heart rate is still up, but it feels GOOD.
But... I also know how easy it is to make excuses and fall back into bad behavior. Could you girls be my cheerleaders? Just talk about it with me? Ask me if I've walked today?
Ask me if I ate breakfast! I did! I ate breakfast! 2 egg whites with 1/2 a small roma tomato, non fat cheese on top and a piece of whole grain toast.
I'm slowly trying to convince myself that I have to eat to lose weight. I'm going for 5 small meals a day, two of them being really small snacks.
I can do this. And I'm really excited about it. I know I'll need support, but I'm SO ready for this. I just had to share.. =D

You can do this! I went vegetarian a year ago! It was a good change. Just beware, after cutting out the junk, if you eat it...you may not feel so hot for a bit. Or at least that's what happens to me.
Don't listen to anyone's negativity either. Do this for you! and walking will make a big difference just keep up with it!
I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see you reach your first goals! YAY!
GOOD FOR YOU!! This is one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself and your family. Each time you feel temptation coming on, think of one thing that you will be able to do with your kids or your husband when you hit your desired weight that you can't do right now because of health/physical or emotional reasons. To me, that would be a pretty big incentive. (Also, have you talked to your Dr. about starting this program? You seem to be making good choices, but there might be some health concerns you need to take into consideration with your exercise and nutrition regimens that you can't get from a website.)
