That today is NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!!!!
National Coffee Day is September 29th! Here are some coffee celebrations and deals for java addicts on National Coffee Day!
Starbucks is handing out tens of thousands of free samples of Via instant coffee! The company has been testing its Via instant coffee in Seattle and Chicago for months but Starbucks is rolling out the new product to the rest of the country today. I’m not a fan of instant coffee but if I have to drink instant, I’d rather drink a cup of Starbucks instant coffee.
Filterfresh Coffee Service is having a creative writing contest in celebration of National Coffee Day. The contest invites Filterfresh customers to write a tribute to the celebrated beverage, explaining why “Coffee is the Greatest Beverage of All Time!” Submissions are due by October 31st 2009, and you can get the details about the contest on the company’s website.
In selected cities on the East Coast, McDonald’s is offering a free hot cup of Newman’s Own Organics all day Tuesday and Wednesday.
On the West Coast, Panera Bread is holding a “Pay It Forward” promotion . Buy any size of drip coffee, say “Pay it Forward” and you get a second cup for free to give to a friend.

I'm with you there Coltsfan. Starbucks coffee always tastes bitter and burnt to me, though I do love their Caramel apple cider!
oooh Maxwell house is my blood lol... Starbucks is not even close I hate strong coffee lol... when it can walk on it's own why does it need me to drink it for transport lol...
Good to know.. My DH and FIL drink coffee like it is going out of style..
I prefer Starbucks over Peet's (for those on the West Coast) or Caribou (for those in the Midwest). If I'm going to drink coffee, I don't want it to be mistaken for brown water. My favorite is diner coffee though. It has to be a real diner, the kind that looks like a train car. I'll still love it even if it is watery if I'm drinking it there!
Most of the time, I'm a tea drinker, though.

Maxwell house WAS in my blood. Lately I've switched to the local store brand which is just as good, if not better IMO.

Peet's is good but I also love Panera's dark roast. Starbucks coffee tastes burnt and is too damn expensve!! I never fell for that hype.
I wish I had time to stop at Panera's today.

I think I must indulge in a cup this evening. Decaf, of course. = D
