Ok, so I actually started this yesterday but decided that I may need to keep a record and see how it works out.
So yesterday, Day #1, I woke him up a little earlier than normal. I showed him what the potty was and had him sit on it so that he felt comfy. He did not like the little one too much so I closed the lid and put the Dora ring on the toilet and he likes climbing up there.
I keep checking him every so often to see if he is wet. When he is just a little wet I put him on the potty and say go potty here. Don't make your undies wet. And then I change him. Doing this all day was terribly trying. But I don't want or have the patience to stalk my child all day to make sure that he is not going on himself and with two other children can not do it. Amazingly at the end of the night Conor came to me and said EEWW! WET! So I felt of him and said yup your wet so we went to the potty and he sat there for a min-nothing- then put on a clean pair. No nap today and a late night for him. I put one of the last diapers I have on him for bed. I am waiting for the PUL fabric to come so that I can make him some night drawers. I have a feeling that is going to take a long time. I ordered him two different kinds of fabric so that I can have one for that night while the other one is on the wash. Will update in a little bit on how the rest of today is going, He is getting a nap today. This leaves us with ONE diaper left and it will be for tonight. Hopefully that fabric will be delivered tomorrow and I can make those undies.
Day 2
Ok so today has left some wanting. I had only three diapers when I started due to the fact of being broke and I refuse to buy anymore disposables. I have ordered some PUL fabric online to make him some night time undies so that I might not that a total mess to clean up every morning. I got Conor up early again and put him on the potty. He did NOT want to sit on the little potty anymore. So I thought that we had went back to before. So I was surprised when he grabbed the Dora ring and put it on the potty and closed the lid to the little one and climbed as best he could onto the big potty. He just sat there saying potty. I know that he is smarter than he lets on but because of him being the baby and what everyone thought was the absolute last one we were having he thinks that he can get away with whatever he wants. He is learning different and he does not like it.
Off and on we asked about him going potty to no avail. When my husband got home he took him in and tried to show him what to do but all he wants to do is sit there. But he still comes to me when he is wet only thing is that we ran out of clean ones and had to deal with shorts.
I put the last diaper on him for bed and he was ok with that.
Day 3
So today is going to be busy and there is nothing that I can do about it. The terminix guy is coming this morning because the nasty people that live next door are moving and have bombed last week. So we have this infestation of roaches, spiders, and scorpions all of a sudden. Not good for my piece of mind. Conor woke up on his own at the time that I have been getting him up but did not want me to touch him. I hope that he is not getting sick. So the terminix guy came at 8 am left at 9, Conor is still dry. We had some errands that would not wait anymore so while I had the chance of him not going in his underwear and having protection of a diaper we went. We were out a lot longer than expected due to waiting but no biggy. He did go in the diaper though--alot. He was not bothered by it. Didn't even seem to notice. So I spent most of the day trying to get the kitchen in order and the stove goes out! I have to get someone here to fix it.
He did not go to the potty at all today but he sat on it once or twice. Lucian showed him what to do and daddy showed him what to do and he wanted to sit on it again but nothing came out. Only went through two pairs of undies though after we got home. I think that he held it all day. At bed time we are out of diapers. My shipment of PUL did not come today. So I wrapped a prefold around him and covered him up with a pair of undies and put his sleeper on him. I hope that it holds up ok.
Day #4
Today was a horrible mess. When Conor got up I checked him and even though he was damp the prefold held a lot better than I would have thought. So I bathed him and changed his sheets and blankets and put them into the wash. Yesterday the stove went out so I called around to see about getting it fixed and it is going to be cheaper to have it replaced. I think that I found one to around $100. Now the washer has stopped working I think that it is the belt again and if that is the case then it will cost about $20. Conor managed to pee through 8 sets of underwear in a two our span. He did make it to the bathroom once but not on the potty. I think that he wants to go just does not want me to know that he can go. He did not go in the potty at all today and threw the biggest fit all day about sitting on the potty. He just really refused to do it for the most part.
On a brighter note the PUL came in today and I made him his overnight diaper. I had to try it on him and adjust over and over and he liked it. He went in before I was done though. So I changed the prefold because it was just a little and again I am amazed at how well they hold wetness. So tomorrow I will work on it some more. I am getting discouraged about potty training though. Four days and not once on the potty.
Day 5
Ok so today is one of the worst. He does not want to do it. I am worried that I am pushing him too hard. I don't even want to talk about it.
Day 6
Ok, So I made some cloth diapers and Conor takes them off as soon as they are wet. Good thing is that his bed no longer has to be changed over and over. So, my hubby is home and I am trying to get him to help me. I noticed that Conor was hiding in the corner in the play room so I went and checked him and he had a small wet spot. I put him on the potty and he did not want to sit there. I tried to get him to stay but I do not want it to be negative for him so I let him thinking that maybe he was done. He went and stood in the kitchen and I went to see what he was doing and he was doing it again so I took him back to the potty. Same thing happened. I let him up after about 2 monutes of fighting with him and he did not go at all in the potty. So I let him up and by this point I am having to wait on the dryer to get done with the load so that he will have something to put on. I kept watching him and noticed him doing it again. I had my husband put him on the potty this time. John put him on the little potty instead of the big one. John made him sit there for a few minutes and went to check the laundry for me. Then Conor comes out of the bathroom when he turned around I noticed that he had poop on his bum so I went looking for it. John went to check on him in the potty because he did not know that he was up and he found the poop in the floor of the potty. I told him that he did good by being in the bathroom but to make sure that he got it into the potty. So for the rest of the day we were trying to get him to do it. He did not goin the potty at all.
Day 7
Oh I am so frustrated with the whole thing. I can not tell if he has to go unless he is naked. I do not want him to get used to running around naked and then go through all this later. Ok, so when he started to go in his undies I caught him and put him on the potty. Went to find some more after about 2-3 minutes on the potty. He was not going on the potty. He came right into the living room and climbed up in the computer chair and peed in my chair. I am so aggravated. I want to scream at this. I am pretty sure that he knows what I want him to go to the potty. The only thing is that I have yet been able to catch him in the act to put him on the potty and getting him to go in the potty so that I can make a big deal of it. I need some help.
