Dan and I had a wonderful time away but I was anxious to get back to Landon. I had gotten a few texts and phone calls from Oliver and Cedric letting me know that my little angel was doing well.
Jared was going to travel back with us, so we all met up and had a bite to eat before heading home. Dan and Jared had gotten passed the initial awkwardness a long time ago so they were joking around and having a great time.
We sat together, Jared's arm around me and my hand in Dan's. From other people's perspective I am sure it looked a little off, but for us it was perfect. Jared loved me and made it known that if Dan didn't treat me right he would step in and steal me away. And Dan let Jared know that it would never happen.
I smiled at the thought of those two fighting. Jared was so much bigger and stronger than Dan. But, Dan said it with such gusto I had to believe he'd put up a hell of a fight.

"Mate, she will be home soon, and she is going to kill us!" Oliver yelled to Cedric.
"She will be pissed, but I don't think she'd kill us!" He paused to look at his godson, "Maybe perhaps mangle us beyond recognition, but not kill us."
"I am glad you find this so funny, Cedric. You have no idea what we are in for!" Oliver rubbed his temples. "She is never going to believe this, I still don't believe this!"
"Oh Merlin, its time to find out. She's home!" Cedric handed Landon to Oliver and walked towards the kitchen.
"You need to be here, don't run off to the kitchen." Oliver snapped at Cedric.
Cedric turned and smiled. "I was going to come right back!"
"Sure!" They both looked at each other nervously and waited.
******************
I ran up the walkway and in just a few steps I was at the front door. My heart was racing. I couldn't get inside fast enough. I wanted to see my baby and I just couldn't get there fast enough.
I opened the door and Snitch was so excited, he was barking and jumping around my feet. I bent down to pick him up and kiss him. As I was getting ready to set him down I looked over at Landon and dropped my poor dog. Landon had a cast on his arm and a bandage on his forehead.
I wanted to cry, but my little empath, I had to think of him. I smiled and took my little angel in my arms and hugged him so tight. I looked at Cedric and Oliver and mouthed to them, "I am going to kill you both!"
I walked into the living room and cuddled my baby while I heard Oliver and Cedric tell me how they ended up at the healer's twice. Once because Landon climbed up a bookshelf and fell. Cedric found him and stayed calm as Oliver screamed about the blood. The second time because Landon climbed out of his crib in the middle of the night and tried to make his way downstairs.
I listened to the stories and shook my head. Landon couldn't walk, he was to young. I set him down to prove my point and Landon just sat there and played with his shoes. Oliver picked him up so that he was standing and Landon looked at me and just fell down.
Cedric stepped forward. "Look S, Landon learned how to walk and climb this weekend. I barely slept because I didn't know what this little guy was going to do next. Please believe us. We wouldn't let him get hurt, or hurt him. You know that."
I did know that. I looked at Landon and picked him up to stand. "Show mommy, Jared, and Dan your new trick." Landon smiled and fell down again. This time he laughed.
I walked out of the room and stepped on to the porch. I had to get away from him so I could cry. I was outside for a few minutes and I felt a hand on my shoulder. I spun around and started to cry. I was held and comforted. I looked up and it was Oliver.
"Serena, I know you don't believe us. But, I love our son. I cried when he cut his forehead. I wanted to call you and tell you to come home."
I looked up at Ollie, "Why didn't you? I would've come home."
He rubbed my back, "I know, and that's why I didn't call you. I knew I could handle it."
"Our son is cut and broken, I don't think you did a very good job!" I said through sobs.
Oliver sighed. "I deserve that. But, there is something you need to see." He turned me so I could look through the window. "Our son can walk!"
I looked through the window and saw Landon walking around going from Jared to Cedric then to Dan. He was smiling and laughing. "He... can... walk!" I screamed.
Oliver hugged me. "I told you."
I hugged him back. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you."
He looked at me and smiled. "I wouldn't have believed you if the table was turned. I didn't realize as he got older he would be so much work." He put his hands on my stomach. "If this is our baby, I won't freak out. I just can't put my heart into it, until I know."
I started crying again. "That's all I needed to know. If it's yours that you will be a good dad, like you are with Landon."
"I am sorry for all the hell I have given you. I want us to be friends. I hate missing him growing up, I want to be able to be around and it not be miserable for the both of us."
I smiled. "So friend, should we go in there and keep our little guy from ending up at the healer's again?"
Oliver laughed a deep laugh, "Yes! After you." He said as he held the door open for me.
We stepped in the house and Landon fell to the ground. Oliver and I laughed. His innocent act was not fooling us any more. I went over and held my arms out to him. He lifted himself up and walked over to me. I scooped him up and smiled.
Jared walked over and tickled Landon. Landon held his arms out to Jared. Cedric and Dan helped me unpack while Oliver cleaned up the house a little.
This house my not be the most traditional, and we may fight. But, in the end it is filled with love and that is all I could ever ask for. I couldn't help but smile as I looked around and saw the connection we all had. Lovers become friends, enemies become allies, and friends find themselves in love. It all worked out for us. I never thought in a million years as I stood here, with everyone, that I would feel this wonderful!
