This is a devotion from my favorite collection "A Passion For Jesus." This particular one was written by Debbie Haworth.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9

In December, 2000, the Lord allowed me to go into a deep coma for two weeks with branstem encephalitis. My family was told I would not live. During that time, the Lord gave me the most unhindered fellowship with Him. He spoke clearly and I was finally still enough to listen. Losing control over my body, and having my brain shut down so severely that I could not distinguish between dreams and reality or remember what my children looked like, caused such grief to my mother's heart. My spirit however, was totally unaffected. Prayer was my only option. I could hear my family talking and praying. Our Lord told me He would heal me one hundred percent and He did. The Lord did not have to heal me. But in His grace, He allowed me to return to my wonderful husband, three young children, and our extended family and friends.

During that time, the Lord strudk my heart about the lack of grace pouring out of our lives. As Christians, we have opportunities every day to show grace. Let us be quick to forgive as we have been forgiven, offer soft answers to those who speak harshly, continue to teach the Word even when it is rejected, and demonstrate love to the most unloving. God will give us the grace.
