Two years ago today we brought Brooke home from the hospital for the first time.  Our lives were full of hopes and dreams and love for our little baby girl.  Today, our lives are still full of infinite love for our little Brooke, but our hearts are full of sadness.  We have brought Brooke home with no plans for further treatment  Her CT scan showed substantial tumor progression just since her CT last Thursday.  Her bilirubin count has also doubled in a week (now 13x the normal level) which indicates increasing liver damage from her progressing disease and her tummy circumference continues to increase.  Her small body is not strong enough to go ahead with more chemo and it obviously wasn't working enough to cure her anyway.  She will soon be free of pain and suffering, just not in the way we had hoped and prayed she would be.
We are so glad that she was still feeling well enough on the day of her benefit to be able to attend.  I can't thank everyone who was a part of that day enough for making that day so special for her.  She will never have another birthday party, or a homecoming dance, or a prom, or a wedding...this benefit was her one big fling and it was HUGE.  I just want everyone to know how very, very much it meant to us.
Please continue to keep Brooke in your prayers.  Please pray for peace and comfort for her and strength for the rest of us to get through this hard time.

Now aside from prayers, i wanted to try and do something for this little girl.. i would love to send her family some money in order for her to do anything she wants before her time with us on earth is over. I took an idea from someone on cafemom and set up a paypal account to collect money. Anything you can give would be appreciated, just remember she may not have much time.

How to use PayPal.

Log into your PayPal account.
Click on the "Send Money" tab.
In the box where it says "To" , type in relientkchic2003@aol.com
Enter your donation amount. Keep it in USD- US Dollars
Click the "Personal" tab below your amount.
Check off the GIFT option.

By using the gift option, Brooke and her family will get to keep 100% of the proceeds. If you choose any other option, PayPal will take out 30 cents plus 2.9% of your total donation per transaction.

Please also visit her caringbridge page and see the pictures of this beautiful girl and her family and read her story and there is a guestbook to sign where you can leave some nice words of comfort.

Thanks guys

Poor thing but it's much safer just to use the donation option on their Caring Bridge website. Unfortunately people have used caring Bridge to Fraud people into giving them money. Sick I know but it's happening.
