I find it absolutely wonderful that CafeMom has the Yoplait "save lids to save lives" campaign all over their pages! I actually have some pink lidded yogurt in my fridge to help out :) However, being this is a mom site, I'm slightly disappointed.
Don't forget, ladies! October is also SIDS Awareness Month! Every year mothers lose their infants and, occasionally, young toddlers to SIDS. We know how to treat breast cancer, but we still don't know what causes SIDS. As mothers, we should all be very concerned over this. Breast cancer awareness eclipses SIDS awareness and, I'll be honest, I probably wouldn't have remembered had a dear friend not recently lost her baby to SIDS.
So, please, ladies! Let's get the word out this month that it's also SIDS awareness month! Don't forget the little ones who have left their mommies too soon!

My pleasure...I just hope to remind enough people that it makes a difference. There's no sure way to prevent SIDS, but it would be nice if more people cared enough to rally together and help them figure out a reason. It's absolutely a heartbreaking thing and probably even more so for the mothers who are told their baby is gone and they have no "real" reason for it.
thank you rach :-)
your post made me cry
and it really is heartbreaking for those who have lost their children way too soon :-(
i hope to be more of an advocate for SIDS awareness since my vanessa was a victim.....this is for her and for all the parents who have lost their own little angel to SIDS

I tagged this especially for you, T. I love you, girl :) You'd be amazed at how much Vanessa's death has hit me and how much more important I view SIDS and the victims of it. More people need to get involved!
