The aunt who was given up by my grandmother.....I drilled my mom a bit.  Grandma still stonewalls on any talk of the fourth child.  But this is what I know based off what my mom can remember:

Birthdate: between Nov 1969 to Jan 1970 OR Nov 1970 to Jan 1971 (my mom insists it was 69/70 but then goes on to state that she was in the 6th grade, which would put it at 70/71, so not entirely sure), but she clearly remembers my grandmother being 4 or 5 months pregnant in August, so the birthmonths are estimates based off her gestation at the time.

Possibly named Louise by her adoptive parents.

Born in Seattle, WA.  How many hospitals were in Seattle at those time frames....I don't know....but the adoptee registries I have searched all specify Virginia Mason, so I assume that was the main hospital.  At the time, my grandmother, mom and siblings lived in White Center, a suburb of Seattle.

Grandma told mom that she opted to have her records open for "Louise" if she were to search.  Based off what I know, this is not legally possible.  My mom now wonders if grandma told her that to make her feel better, knowing "Louise" would be barred from grandma's identifying info.

Again, grandmother is Harlene Lacher (might have even used maiden name Nelson).  In her youth, she stood 5 foot 8 with blond hair and blue eyes.  She would have been between 30 and 31 yrs of age at the time.

And while I still don't know the whole story, part of me is now wondering if my grandmother became pregnant thru rape and due to society at the time, was made to feel responsible for it.  But regardless of how this fourth child came about, my mom still has the right to know her.  Their right to know each other supersedes my grandmother's "right" to birthparent "privacy".
