Nicholas came rushing in the front door after school today, in such a hurry to tell me a story. It seems he found a beautiful leaf during recess and he wanted to bring it home for me. Unfortunately, some meanie Dominic stepped on the leaf and ruined it. With tears in his eyes he looks at me and says "Now my heart is broken". Such a precious boy. I cleared his tears and kissed and hugged him and got him some juice. A few hours later I was laying on the floor with Nick coloring in a new coloring book. He snuggled really close and sniffed my arm (Nick has a keen sense of smell and he is forever smelling me. My clothes, my skin, my hair. . .he loves me what can I say?!) and he says the most precious thing to come out of his mouth. . . ."Mommy I can feel my heart grow back together now"  He just melts my heart.

Blessed are the pure in heart.
So often we are told
Of saints whose names and daily deeds
Inscribed in books of gold
Are certain to be seeing God
In well-rewarding joy -
But when I see the pure in heart
I see a little boy.

He shins up trees and barks his knees,
Has lizards in a box;
He loves to read of dinosaurs,
Collects bright-colored rocks.
His grubby hands are gentle
On the coats of dogs and birds,
And he has a quiet wisdom in naivety of words.
I listen to his little prayers
At night with quiet joy -
And when I hear the pure in heart
I hear a little boy.

He hasn't reached the age as yet
To question and to doubt;
He gravely takes his mother's words,
And that's what life's about.
Each day is gold, a shining thing
Without a wrong alloy -
And when I hold the pure in heart
I hold a little boy.

awww so sweet.

My son use to pick me dandelions when they were still in the yard. He just would pull off the heads of them & bring them to me. I always got misty eyed.
