My son Kyle, just turned 4, has been going to a special needs prek since last march/april.  He has always been slower at talking/putting words/sentences together and also has been slower developing because of his speech delay.  Well, lately his teacher, when I pick him up, tells me that he's her little talkative kid, lol.  So, on Thursday we had parent/teacher conferences and I learned that he's scored 100% on most everything and 75% on one section.  I can't believe it!!  So, he's probably going to be starting to go to head start instead of special needs prek since he doesn't need all that extra speech therapy and help developing.  I seriously have always thought that my son was slower, guess he just needed a little extra help.  I will find out in the next couple of wks because he's on fall break the next 2wks.  The only thing I don't like about him being so smart is that he's just barely 4, so he won't be in kindergarden next year because he missed the cut off by 3-4 days, not sure if its by September 1st or before September 1st-his birthday is September 4th.  I just can't believe that it only took my son a few months to get up to age level because he just started last spring.
