A post on scrapbooking today reminded me about my family's end of the year memory books we do & thought I'd journal about it & maybe spark some interest in others out there to possibly do something similar or incorporate the ideas into your scrapbooks. Thanks for checking out the post.
I used to scrapbook all the time but now have resorted to doing memory folders at the end of the
year with an end of the year reflection & a list of major news/events around the world. Our version of doing it is also easier on one's budget saving on expensive albums & sheets. We use 3 ring binders with pockets & inserts on the outside for our folder, sheet protectors to perserve our pics, & buy a stack of varying colored card stock sheets as our papers. then put
pics on it with a mini notation of what was done the day. Like
miscellaneous info of pics that weren't added & funny moments. & usually we even tuck inside the folder's pocket a CD of all the photos taken that
year.
Hubby & Leila get in on the action too. I choose the pictures that go & write out the details along with my personal year reflection, leila places stickers/embellishments around & puts on our pics after we all decide its placement, & hubby cuts out our notations, adds his end of the year letter to me, & finds interesting events of the year on a list to add.
Here's a few pics of one of our memory folders. & I've added in an end of the year reflection survey at the bottom to give an idea of how ours is like, but the one we actually use is far more detailed.
