pink ribbon  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!!

For the month of October Yoga with Dawn classes are encouraged to wear pink and become more aware of the health benefits yoga has to offer in not only preventing breast cancer but also helping survivors recover with strength, hope, and vitality.  Although its not a cure, practicing yoga enhances physical & emotional wellness and brings a peace many patients had thought they lost forever.  Yoga can reduce your risk by stimulating lymph flow, strengthening the endocrine and immune systems, and improving your attitude toward your body.

In class this month we'll receive handouts with great information about breast cancer, the health benefits of yoga for you or a loved one, and also fantastic stories of "peaceful warriors" who faced breast cancer with grace & beauty.  Find out which yoga poses are most beneficial for prevention and which poses help the healing process after a lumpectomy or other surgeries.

Are you doing everything you can to prevent breast cancer?

Most women are aware of the risk of breast cancer; we have learned to perform monthly self-exams and visit the doctor for our well women exams each year and get a yearly mammogram after the age of 40.  While these are important tools for early detection, are we doing enough to optimize the health of our breasts, and the rest of our bodies as well?  Research ~ Learn ~ Take Action
