~My life as a Army wife~

So Kaydence had her big *18 mo* check up today! I was nervous bc I just wanted to see how she was doing and make sure she was on the right track for development and all. Well she is doing great as far as mental/cognitive development shes right on queue for speech,movement,play,etc... However she is STILL underweight. They told us at her 12 mo appt. she was underweight and to keep an eye on it well as far as we could tell shes grown out of 12 mo clothes and now wears 18 mo clothes and now is one size up in shoes too. So, she is growing right?! Well apparently NOT. She has grown 4 inches however is still the same weight, which I guess now is even a bigger concern for it being 6 months later! I hate stressing and worrying but now I really am!! I thought at 12 mos it was ok to only be 20 lbs but now only months away from being 2 its a concern. So the dr said she needs to drink 4-5 cups of WHOLE milk AND a cup or so of ICECREAM every day! WOW. nehoo  I hope this all helps her and she starts gaining weight!! Otherwise everything went pretty well today minus the 3 shots and her screaming/crying BLOODY murder! But of course the ol lollipop trick made her tears disappear in about .2 seconds! I will keep everyone updated on her status!! They want her back in a month to check her weight. so we shall see!

You saw Logan, his doctor said he was under weight (he doesn't look it to me) but that he would rather him be under then over...I've never met your daughter but I've met you and you are small. They just go by all that stuff from the average child your child may have a smaller bone structure or something...what doctor are you seeing?? Ice Cream everyday I don't know, that doesn't sound all that healthy.. isnt there something else to give her if she has to gain weight? hmmm...

We see military dr's so I already am always worried about trusting them but I like to think a dr is telling me whats best for my kid but my dad said the same thing, icecream isnt the best idea. I called the nurse line and hey said she can have that pedia sure type drinks that are all full of vitamins and to also give her a daily vitamin. I personally was always tiny until I had her, lol. I just think she is fine bc she doesnt look or act malnurished. I dunno tho~ dr's stress me out!!
