Money hungry

Okay so my SIL  stays around the corner from us and they are or were doing a heck of a lot better then we are. Meaning they have two cars we have none. They always go and buy new clothes and soon as they come out. We hit the sales and take advantage of layaway and so forth. I come from a background where family looks out for one another and when you scratch my back belive me I will be scratcing yours. but no not this girl she wants you to pay her for every little thing in the world. so about a week ago her boyfriend went to jail and now she needs our help. okay my hubby and her boyfriend work at the same place so that was his ride to work so my SIL tells us if you give me $50 a week you can use to car that sounds fair right. wrong this girl wants to come and get the keys everynight and bring them back in the morning and then says we cant use it on the weekends but she wants us to pay her oh and then last night she calls and says i dont have any money to put gas in my car for work so i need money for me or i will be taking my boyfriend's car to work (mind you we pay her a week in advance) am i the only one that sees the wrong in this i mean come on.i am getting to the point that i am about to say F---- her you know! am i wrong?

Just an observation: just because someone has 2 cars or has the newest, coolest clothes doesn't mean they are better off. It could mean they are living way beyond their means, trying to seem like they're better off.

As for the sister charging you to use the car, and then wanting to take it overnight and on weekends....well, that's just ridiculous. Tell your hubby to take the bus to work or find another co-worker to carpool with.

I doubt they are doing well at all, i agree with the previous poster. sounds like they are going for keeping up with the joneses. but they likely are in very bad shape financially.

 

i would stop enabling her. dont pay her to use the car. find another way, like the PP suggested. tough love time hon

I think if there is any other way your husband can find a way to work then do it .    She is taking advantage of both of you.
