I wouldn't say that I'm religious. I would have to say that I am more "spiritual" if anything. I believe that organized religion divides us.

Now, don't get me wrong. I believe in God, a universal force. I just have a hard time understanding why we should worship a man. A human being, just like ourselves. Sure, he's depicted as a holy man, but being born from a virgin is kind of strange to me. For the record, I'm going to focus on logic here.

It is likely that I will receive all kinds of responses from writing this article but I feel that some people would really like to know this. People who are searching for a truth based on logic, something that explains every religion to a certain extent, and why a lot of us got it wrong. All criticism is welcomed. You're entitled to your opinions and your beliefs and I will withstand whatever comments you throw my way.

I believe that Christianity was created based on ancient culture's worship of the sun. In fact, I believe that the Bible was written metaphorically and we decided to take it literally. If you consider how every religion is so similar except for a few different aspects, this will begin to make sense to you.

Thousands upon thousands of years ago, people worshiped the sun. You know, the big ball of gas in the sky? As far back as 10,000 B.C., ancient cultures have shown adoration for the sun through drawings and other documents. In many of the Christian pictures depicting Jesus, behind him, you see a large circle that resembles a sun. Often, you will see a bright light behind him as well.

Now think about this. The sun stops moving south starting on December 22, which is the winter solstice. Many cultures referred to this as the sun "dying". On December 25, the sun is "born" when it begins moving north in the sky. Consider Jesus, the "son" of God, who is said to be born on December 25.

In many areas of the world, the calendar began in the constellation of Virgo. This would explain that the sun was "born of a Virgin". Jesus Christ, the "son" of God was born from the virgin Mary. In the Bible, they refer to Jesus, the "son" as the "light of the world", that he "cometh on clouds and every eye shall see him", that he "walks on water", and that he is the "savior of mankind". The sun in our sky is surely the light of the world. The sun is above the clouds. If you've ever viewed the sun over water, you see that the reflection dances across the waves, never going under. The sun in the sky is the savior of mankind for without it, we would all perish. It rises every morning in order to bring security and warmth to the world. Without it, crops would die, life would not survive.

By studying the stars, many ancient cultures were able to predict eclipses and other events like the phases of the moon. The stars were categorized into different groups which is what we have come to know as constellations. There are twelve constellations or zodiac signs. Jesus had twelve disciples. These twelve disciples could represent the twelve signs of the zodiac.

At noon, the sun is in the temple of the "most high". In the Bible, Jesus begins his Father's work at age twelve. Strange, right? When the sun enters each constellation, it does so at thirty degrees. In the Bible, the "son" of God begins ministry when he is thirty years of age.

The "son" of God is crucified on a cross. The cross of the zodiac is one of the oldest images in ancient history. The image depicts the sun moving through each of the twelve constellations, as well as the twelve months of the year, the four seasons, solstices, and equinoxes. This cross could actually represent the sun passing through the equinoxes. At the vernal equinox, which is Easter, the day of Christ's resurrection, the sun in our sky, too, is "resurrected".

All savior myths are very similar in many different cultures. There is a man who is crucified, resurrected, completes miracles, and has twelve "prophets", "disciples", or "helpers". Is it possible that these stories were based on the sun? The sun can be viewed all over the Earth.there is not one part of the Earth that is spared of the sun. All twelve signs of the zodiac can be viewed around the world in the sky.

Know that what you have just read is only scratching the surface. There are so many ways in which all major organized religion is similar to the sun, moon, stars, and the heavens in general. You can do your research and you will realize what I've realized. There is some force behind the universe, an energy force, as energy cannot be created nor destroyed, and this is God. The "son" of God, is in fact, the "SUN".

Many people are quick to dismiss Jesus as a myth, but who will dismiss the actual sun in our sky as a myth? I believe that Christianity was fabricated, not purposely, but we chose to interpret it completely differently than what it was meant.

I don't know everything, and didn't finish reading your blog, but I believe Jesus is truely God, and He is light.  I say I know this because I had a vision once at church, during a service, and so I know He is light becasue I saw the light myself, and heard His voice.  Yup, and I'm not crazy, but just wanted to set the record straight on God.

Jesus, however, isn't a myth. He's a historical figure. A fact. Secular Roman records of his being exist. Now, some may dispute his position as the literal Son of God, born of a virgin (I happen to believe), but Jesus himself is not a mythological figure.

The correlations you point out regarding myths of creation and salvation are generally true, but on a theoretical level since they rarely intersect with actual recorded historical events.

It drives me nuts when people complain about "organized religion".  People naturally sort themselves into groups - it is a tendency most humans share, to seek out others who are like-minded.  Even the less strict religions are nonetheless organized for those who wish to join.   Everywhere you have people, you have groups.  Religious or not.  And if someone wants their religion to be dis-or-unorganized, that's fine.

A couple observations on "religion":  Religion is essentially Nature seeking the Supernatural.   A path for one to reach the other.

Also, substitute the word "spiritual discipline" for "religion".   You can see why there are so many rules and rituals for making spiritual progress.  The mind and body need discipline, so does the soul.
