Ok so today was the day I hit rock bottom... I have never in a million year thought I would ever be doing this. Now I sit in front of my computer trying to make sense of today's events.
OCD? what is ocd? do I have it? is this a sign?.. I don't think I do because there are days in my home where things just are not done, period. And it doesn't really affect me.. well.. not for several hours.. anyway today I woke up, helped my husband (that wonderful man!) get ready for work and then see my son (who forgot his school id and I had to run outside with bed hair to give to before the bus arrived) out the door to another day of learning (sigh).. then I went back to bed..hey.. it was only 7:50am.. and my daughter was still asleep so.. why not... then I tried to take a little morning nap.. but I kept thinking about all the things I wanted to accomplish today.. so I got up and made breakfast (that's coffee for me) and went on the computer, checked emails, messages.. you know.. the usual.. until baby girl got up and went to tend to her.
After I settled her down in front of the tv with her breakfast (no, no coffee for her.. I made her eggs..lol), I got started.. cleaned the kitchen, started laundry, did my bed, checked my children's bedroom, fed the cat, cleaned the litter box, had another cup of joe, paid some bills.. ok.. you know.. the usual, so every time I was doing something I would pass by the bathroom... which I have been postponing because I really have to get in there and scrub, see I do a "light cleaning" of the bathroom every day.. but at least once a week I really scrub it down.. and its tiring!! so today I put on my boxing.. err.. rubber gloves and went to work.. But wait.. what is this? an old toothbrush.. hum... crazy me got a hold of this old toothbrush and some bathroom cleaning detergent and went to town.
Have you ever cleaned the bathroom tiles with a toothbrush? Please tell me you have... please someone tell me I'm not the only one...I need to know I am not going nuts!
Needless to say, my bathroom tiles are impeccable, my wrist hurts and I am scratching my brains asking WHY?.. now why would I do that? was it the coffee? I'm I going through a middle-age-mom crisis.. or did I just have too much energy? cant figure this one out..
HERES A PIC OF THE CULPRIT! and of course my clean tiles..lol

LOL I wish my tiles looked like that! Maybe I should try that! It would take me forever though!
I use old toothbrushes for all kinds of cleaning projects, the bathroom tile grout being one of them. It works really, really well. So today you have made a brand new discovery. And, no, you are not nuts!
Girl you are soo funny! I have an angled grout brush that I scrub my tiles with... First I spray them with hot water and then Bleach and let it sit while I do the sink and the mirror then I scrub the tile walls and tub and then rinse with hot water again... I don't do it every week, I should but I don't... lol! If you like the tooth brush you'll love the grout brush its by mr clean and it has a longer handle and its a gripper comfy handle... ;)
lol... my mom has ocd, but she doesn't realize it. she does the same thing though, but you don't have to worry if you don't take your child's or your own toothbrush that you use for brushing your teeth to do the tiles. my mom every single time i got a new toothbrush i had to hide it in my bedroom so i could actually brush my teeth because every time she saw a tooth brush her mind said "CLEANING TIME!!!" it was annoying and very expensive.
