Space the final frontier?

If you had the money would you spend the millions it cost to go up into space?  If not why?  Is it because there are better ways to spend money?  If so why?  

This is the Cirque Du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.  He spent 35 million to go into space.

If I had the money I would not even think of spending it on going to space.  I would use it to do something useful and meaningful on Earth rather than spending it on something so insanely expensive for myself.  But that is just me.....

Well...I think it is neat that we are learning more about our galaxy, and am excited at the possibly to learn about others.  Thing is we do have a lot of issues going on right now, down here on Earth, that could have used some of that funding...ahem...*health care*.  What do I know though.
