Walk with those seeking truth,

run from those who think they found it.

We're going to head to Yellowstone next summer, probably in June/July to have a family Vaca with my parents. We usually drive to Washington but since Yellowstone is only 4 hours away from us we decided to do that instead and they will meet us there. In an effort to save some money by jumping on it early, as this will likely be our only trip next summer.. I wanted some advice and tips from you all!

I haven't been in over 8 years, so I really cant remember a whole lot but I know the things we will do for sure is hit up all the geysers, mud pots, minerva terrace, hot springs and so on. I wanted to ask some of you who have been there more recently what your favorite things or areas were? We will only be spending 2-3 full days there. We aren't fishers.. not really interested in hiking (this time at least, with a 3 and 5 year old!). We want them to see some of the animals, mostly bears (we see buffalo, moose and antelope all the time in Utah) so should we avoid the SE corner of the park in general? Someone told me unless you want to go fishing its not really that interesting. Anyone have opinions on that?

Any lodges that are particularly cool to eat at or stop at? We had lunch at the old faithful lodge and I remember loving it... also anything outside the park in that area you think was cool let me know! We are going to come home through the Tetons so anything about that would help too! Thanks guys!

If you want bears go early, april, may or june. July is a little late and you want to be in the NE corner. You'll see more there. Old Faithful is still great. The town of West Yellowstone is a cool place, they have Bear World and an Imax.
