As most of you already know, I volunteer for a large pit bull rescue and these dogs have a very special place in my heart and in my life. I have been aware for several years of a wonderful organization called Pinups for Pitbulls, a non-for profit group that puts out a calendar once a year featuring lovely pin-up models posing with pitbulls and donates all proceeds to pit bull rescues and dogs in need. Last year they were able to donate almost $20,000 to pit bull related organizations!
I had dreamed for a few years of possibly submitting a picture for this calendar, but always so unhappy with the way that I looked that I put it out of my head. Finally this year, after my huge lifestyle change and losing 90 lbs., I thought you know what? I'm going to go for it. So I got together with a local photographer and did a photoshoot with one of the adoptable dogs from my rescue. And after waiting so nervously (and impatiently--patience is NOT my virtue) to hear back, I got the e-mail last week saying that I MADE IT! I don't know what month I am going to be as the layout is not quite yet finished, but I am officially a 2010 Pinup for Pitbulls. :) I could not be more proud and honored to be involved with this organization and I just wanted to share it with you, all of my CM friends. If you are an animal lover, know an animal lover or just love pinup art or the pinup lifestyle, I urge you to check out this website and their calendar. They make great holiday gifts and are already on presale! Since my photo is going to be featured I unfortunately can't share it here, you'll have to buy a calendar for that. ;) But please do check them out if you get a minute! Any calendar or merchandise purchase goes to help the dogs.

Dang! Woman! When you said you had submitted photos for the calendar, I thought it was just pics of the rescues! I didn't know that you were posing with them! Wow. You have balls (or ovaries, I guess). You go girl! Can't wait to see the issue you're in--you deserve your moment in the spotlight, for all you've been through and for all you've done.
Good work!
I'm so proud of and happy for you!!! You go girl! If I have the money I'll defiantly buy one to support pits and you too.
Ooooh, Katie, I am still bubbling over with excitement for you about this! I can't wait to see how hot you look.
Congrats, my dear, and thanks for your contribution to the pit bull rescue world!
