"...rock music is of the devil...." why are people so quick to point the finger of damnation!?

don't ya just love that. i wear christian metal band t-shirts sometimes and people give me evil glances all the time. they assume that heavy rifts and screaming are of the devil, but if they listened to the lyrics, they would see that it is Words straight out of the bible. sure i might not look like a clean cut christian, but i hold my faith near and dear to my heart, i just don't understand why and how people can be so close minded, it's not right, AND it's not what Jesus taught us to do :(.... we are supposed to be kind accepting and open hearted, He spoke and taught of love, breaks my heart to see people like that :( but back to the music part, i don't understand why people think metal or most music in general is of the devil. far far far from the truth, i mean i'm sure there are some people in the world who listen to it for that reason BUT it all depends on where you let it take you, to a good place, or a bad place, if you let it take you to a bad place then odds are,  it could and would be considered evil, but if you enjoy and appreciate it without letting it control you and without letting it get too far then it is perfectly fine IMO, wooooooo sorry for the long reply hahahahah

I think people today are too quick to condemn. It's been like this for years and years. We see it alot, whether it's people scoffing at the tattoos, the piercings, the hair style/color, the clothing......you can't please everyone so why bother? Best to just please yourself and turn a deaf ear to what 'people' say. It took me almost 40 years to understand this....but now that I have, let me tell you, it really does take a load off!!! LOL Music is a personal preference and we all interpret it differently. Listen to what makes you happy. If you don't like what someone else listens to it's easy...Don't Listen!!! :-)

I don't think that it happens just by people of today. It's been going on sense religion (not just Christianity, although it might be most famous for it). People judge and are afraid of things they do not understand. Fear leads to rejection. And some of these people are taught that the bible says not to learn about such "evil" things. So, if one thinks it is evil ...then one should just avoid it. Of course, today in America, it is not always possible to physically avoid what is "evil" so they avoid the enlightenment of what they believe to be evil.

I hope that made sense. lol :)
