Q: How much is the kit and what all comes in it?
A: The cost of the kit is $20 if you join online.
You will receive 10 brochures each for your 1st and 2nd Campaign along with other training material.
Starter kits will be available during your first order only. These new starter kits provide everything new Representatives need to familiarize themselves with the product line and to demo and sell Avon beauty products. Packaged separately to deliver a premium new Representative experience, there is an "Essential" kit for $49.99 ($) and a premium kit for $99.99. The new Starter kits are a seperate purchase from the $20 to join and are optional. However they come with a nice bag and 40 extra brochures. Its similar to the new rep bundles they used to offer.
Q: What other supplies do I need to purchase that is not in the kit?
A: Your kit comes with everything you need to start and your first order will include bags. However a few things I would recommend purchasing are What's New Bags (plastic bags to hang on door knobs) $0.60.
Q: How much does the brochures cost?
A: Brochures come in packs of 10 so when ordering if you only need 10 brochures you will only order one pack. They start out at $5.75 for a 1 pack and go to $19.00 for 10 packs. After 10 packs they cost $1.30 per pack.
Q: Since the customer does not pay until the item arrives, do I have to pay for it first?
A: When you sign up you will be asked a few questions. This determines your credit with Avon. If you go over that credit on your first order you may or may not have to pay the difference. You will have until the next campaign is due to pay off your previous campaign or your order will go on hold for up to 10 days until you pay. If you do not pay your order will be canceled after 10 days and Avon will add late fees per campaign.
This is your business so if you want to charge the customer upfront then you can.
Q: What happens if someone does not pay for their order, am I out money?
A: The good thing about Avon is that if your customer doesn not purchase their product you will find a customer who will want whatever doesn't sell. You can keep this item and sell it or you can return the item for credit to your account. However if you return it you will have to pay shipping charges. So the best thing would be to try to sell the item. My advice would be to keep a box with you for all your on hand items that way you can carry it around when you deliver your orders and show customers what you have on hand. You can always return items to Avon that you purchase within a 12 month period.
Q: How do I place my orders?
A: Once you are in the Avon system you will be able to go online and place your orders at youravon.com. You can also place your order by phone but will not get the 40% gauranteed earnings in your 1st four campaigns. You will only place one order per campaign. You do not submit an order for each customer. You will receive a multiple order fee if you do so.
Q: Does Avon have a website available to reps so they can sell to customers out of state and if so how much does it cost?
A: Yes Avon does have a website available to reps. You will receive the first 6 campaigns free. The cost of the site is $7.50 every campaign. For a limited time if you have a customer place an order through the website Avon will waive the fee for that campaign.
Q: How long does each campaign last?
A: Each campaign will last every two weeks. There are 26 campaigns in a year.
Q: How much do you make with Avon?
A: Starting in C/20, new Representatives will get 40% guaranteed earnings their first four Campaigns as long as your orders are placed online - 40% for the first Campaign, regardless of order size and then with a $50 order in Campaigns 2-4. This contributes to a consistent new Representative experience, so as you start your new Representatives out with strong selling skills - and they achieve President's Club sales, they can sustain their earnings level and have a positive start to their business. This also comes immediately before the exciting new starter kits launching in C/22.
After your first four campaigns or if orders are placed by phone, the commission structure is as follows:

Q: Do I need to pay in Sales Tax on orders?
A: You will need to charge customers the appropriate sales tax for your state and when you place your order Avon will add the sales tax to your total cost of your order therefore Avon will pay in the sales tax for you.
Q: Do I need to file income tax?
A: Avon is not required to send in your name or SS# unless you make more than $5000 a year. You will need to contact an accountant for info on filing for taxes.
Q: Do I have to keep any inventory on hand?
A: No, you do not have to have inventory on hand unless you want.
Q: Am I required to place an order every campaign?
A: No, however you will want to order books to hand out in order to get more orders. You will also need to place an order every two or three campaigns in order to stay an active member.
Q: Am I required to recruit anyone?
A: No, you are not required to recruit you can simply just sell Avon if you want. Most people start out selling Avon just to get a discount and then find many other people love Avon and want to buy. If someone is interested in joining Avon but you don't want to come into leadership then you can refer them to Avon and receive $20. If you are joining Avon to make an income than leadership is where the money is and you will want to be in leadership.
Q: Is it mandatory to go to the Avon meetings?
A: No, it is not mandatory but it is a great experience. This is a way to keep you motivated and to reach the goals you want to reach.
Q: What happens if I become an inactive member?
A: If you do not place an order with Avon every couple of campaigns you can become inactive if this happens you can contact your district manager to find out how to become active again.
Q: Does Avon have a training program?
A: Yes Avon wants to help you become successful in reaching your goals so they made it convenient for everyone to do training through their online training program. You can do this in your own time at your own pace. And best of all it is free.
A: The average customer order is $25.
Q: Do I have to sign a contract with Avon?
A: There is a contract to sign, but it is only to state that you agree to the terms and conditions of being a representative. There is no time limit on the contract, and there is no fee or penalty to ending your relationship with AVON.
Q: Do I have to pay a Shipping Fee?
A: No! There is a $2.50 processing fee for orders placed online and $2.75 for orders placed over phone, but shipping is free.
Q: What if I find Avon is not for me what do I need to do to leave Avon?
A: Simply pay your balance and contact your upline representative or your District Manager and let them know.
Q: Can I join Avon just for the discount?
A: Yes, you can join avon as a personal shopper.
Q: Is there a quota to meet?
A: No but you need to order something every 3 campaigns so you do not go inactive this can be a small item.
Q: How do I get paid?
A: You are paid when the customer pays you. You collect the money for the orders then send what you owe to Avon. The difference is your earnings.
