hm. What is the most dangerous thing I've done? I suppose there are two things where they might have been danger. I really didn't think about danger at the time.
The first was when I was 3 yrs old. My family had horses that were boarded at the local fair grounds. I was riding a horse that was not fully trained. My mother thought her BF had a hold of me. Her BF thought my mother had a hold of me. No one did. And I kicked the horse. We start to gallop down to the end of the long barn I was riding in. Keep in mind I'm a 3 yr old. The horse starts bucking and rearing up. I thought it was a fun little ride. My mother is screaming to hang on while they are racing after the horse to calm it. I did hang on until the horse quit bucking. A few months later I even rode him through a horse sale. Everyone loves to see kids on a horse at sales. I rode with just a halter & lead rope.
The second I was a bit older. Maybe 7 or 8. My family had began a little side business. We were hired to ship two mustangs to a ladies farm. I cannot remember where we had to go but it was a long way. And her property was up on a mountain. Her drive was very narrow with a long drop on both sides. We were having a hard time getting up the steep incline. To make matters worse it was very dark and several bends in the drive.
My mother decided to get out of the truck and watch to make sure her BF wasn't getting to close to the side of the moutain. There was a real possibility that if a tire got to close to the edge the whole rig would go down the moutain. She was to give him a signal if he got too close.
My mother has poor eyesight. And its even worse in the dark to in retrospect she wasn't the greatest person to be our guide. But there was no one else to do the job and she couldn't drive the rig. Mom was out there for 10 minutes or so when I got a very bad feeling in my gut. I was worried for my mother. So I asked her BF if I could get out and walk with my mother. At first he said no, but I explained I had a bad feeling. I think he did too. That is the one and only time he listened to my intuition. But I'm glad he did. Not two minutes after I stepped out of the truck, my mother almost walked off the ridge. If I hadnt of been there she would have fallen and likely been killed.
