Thought I would update you on my progress with the blankets. I had
started by making the hexes without the last round. It started getting
a bit monotonous. A stack of hexes is pretty and all, but by no means
is it very blankety. I started to think, "what's the use of the
join-as-you-go method, if you don't join AS you go, but wait 'til the
end?" So I started connecting hexes. It was so satisfying.
As I sitting on the couch, joining away, the girls kept coming over and laying there heads on the blanket. I guess they like it!
Every other row, I have added an extra dimensional flower in the center
of every other hex. That's only 1/4 of the hexes, so not too much extra
work. Vada is very fond of the extra flowers. She points at the hexes
and says "no, no, no, flower!" The no's being hexes without and the
flower! being hexes with the extra flower. It's very adorable.
I'm going to enjoy my left over French Onion soup from last night's
dinner. Then it's time to add a few more hexes, as a reward for a very
productive morning.
