Through the process of starting my business, I found that there is practically no direct grant funding available to women trying to start or expand their own business. If you check the SBA website, you will see that there are NO federal grants for this purpose. Sure there are loans and there is a ton of technical assistance and money for college, but practically nothing that will give you actual cash to pay for things like state filing fees, advertisement, office supplies, etc. I only found two sources and one of them has a page so filled with advertising that I'm not even sure how you apply for it.

I have a strong nonprofit heart as I am a founder and former Executive Director of a 501 (c) (3)nonprofit and I currently volunteer and am a consultant with the Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations (FANO). Because of this heart, I have partnered with a wonderful WAHG to develop a way to offer a grant to other mompreneurs looking to start or expand their own business. The grant is small, up to $500 annually right now, though we hope someday to offer more. Even this amount could help pay for a lot of things for a women looking to become a mompreneur. Anyway, if you are interested in applying, please visit here. Good luck!
