My grandson is now at home with his Mommy and Daddy, right where he should be. I have to say though it is a cute story. My daughter turned 18 in April and she is my baby girl and the youngest of my two wonderful kids. My son, daughter and I went to Seattle for the day to celebrate my daughter's birthday. At dinner time my son's girlfriend met us at the restaurant and after we had finished dinner and dessert my son looked at me with his hands over his eyes (he is now 23 but he has done this since he was little when he wasn't sure what my response would be when telling me something) and he said to me "we are going to have a baby, and it is due in October and after it is born we are giving it to you." He is so funny. I laughed and cried as this is my first real grandchild from one of my kids. I was so excited. I knew I wasn't going to keep him but now that he has arrived I joked with my son about his comment. He was born on the 7th of October at 37 weeks and was in the NICU wing until yesterday when he finally go to go home with Mommy and Daddy. He had bleeding between the brain and scalp which is more common than some think - not normal but common. For those of you who don't know it is like a bruise and takes 7 to 10 days to heal. But, he was there for so long because they didn't know about the bleeding until this past Sunday - he was like a patient on House, they really tried everything they could think of to find out what was wrong with him. He had a feeding tube and IV which they moved and only had one spot left to try so he was on a "no holding" policy, I haven't held him yet. Hopefully today. He is now eating on his own and doing well. I am so excited to go see him today.
