When my son very politely asked for a banana, I was happy to oblige. His adorable face and sweet voice, coupled with the "please may I?" made my heart warm. I peeled the banana partway and handed it to him, but he immediately handed it back.
"I don't like the butt hole."
"WHAT?!"
"I don't like the banana's butt hole."
I didn't want to make too big a deal out of it (knowing that if I gave it too much attention, he would say it more), so I calmly bit the end off the banana, gave it back, and suppressed my laughter as I looked over at my dear husband to inquire as to where our son got his ideas about the anatomy of fruit.
Of course, he "honestly has no idea" where he could have heard that. As our son handed me the banana to do the honors on the other end, my husband giggled and nudged him.
"Hee hee - Mommy eats butt holes!"
