When are we ever going to finally use the Metric system only?  This is ridiculous, almost every other country is on board.  Our schools have been teaching the Metric system for decades now, but we can't seem to drop the Old English measurements.  Is there a countdown I don't know about?

You might think that with all the money the teachers unions and lobbies have, they might fund some initiatives on a Metric system campaign and signage.  They should be responsible in part for getting it started.

Well there's my rant for the day.  It just seems silly to be still using Old English when the rest of the world uses Metric - but whatever!

I think NOT using the metric system was one of the perks of winning WWII. LOL!!

Speaking of teachers/schools - my 8th grader had a word-search for homework today. Seriously? What is that about?

LMAO! I've said this a million times before. My husband is from Costa Rica, and he says metric is so much easier to use. I agree with him, everything is divided by 10, WTF that's so easy!

But you just knoooow if they tried to change it on us, all the backwoods rednecks would come out of the woodwork screaming "Ain't no way in hail that Imma start usin' that new-fangled Yer-uh-pee-in measurement system! Imma UH-MAIR-IH-KIN! I speeka da English!"

*sigh* Sometimes I'm embarassed to be American.

Absolutely Shell!   Change is tough, but it is so easy, so logical.  It won't bridge cultural gaps, but at least, it will be one more thing to have in common with the rest of the world.  They started to do this while I was in school - I don't know why they dropped it.  They could simply do it progressively, even if it takes 10 years to fully implement.

Ask Obama... he wants change, no?

However, I'll never suggest the US use the Euro!  I'm lovin the 1.5€ to $1 exchange currently!!!!

p.s I'm off to KofP today!
