Stories by Amorentia & shtteredprincess

At the moment I felt wary. Too weary to do much of anything beside be close to Marcus and the kids. Too wary to even beat Jacob with my shoe for being so stupid and putting us all in that position of worrying over his life. But I did want to see Jacob at some point. To hold him in my arms to make sure he was really there and to tell him I love him. Jaki and I need him. That he has to be more careful.

Holding Marcus's hand as we left Sara's, I leaned into him seeing the sadness in his eyes from Sara's adversion to look at him because of his beautiful blue eyes. Our arms slide around each other as I stroked his cheek with my other hand encouraging him, "It will pass. She loves you and will get past it.

"It was just hard to see the look in her...to know I'm the one that made her think of..." my sweet man trailed off. Hugging me tighter to him he tried to breath off the pain. "It's been a rough few days baby." Shaking his head, he leaned down giving me a kiss that lifted even my heart. "Why don't we get the kids and all, go down to the beach.  I know it's kinda cold, but we can light a fire, play some Frisbee?  Get away from all the bad stuff for awhile?"

It sounded so good. A perfect pick me up for today. "We'll bring dinner too." I added. "I would love that. Just you and the chidlren make everything in life so much better."

Marcus grinned, "Maybe we can can Em and John into bringing the kids..."  As the same time I asked, "Should we ask call John and Em....". We both laughed.

Marcus finished, "For them to bring the kids back and you can show me fun ways to keep warm in the cold Washington waters?"

Still laughing I pulled him closer, "I can show you many fun ways to keep you warm tonight."

With my face in his hands he kiss me till we both had to come up for air, "I know I am going to thoroughly enjoy every one of them."

Holding his shirt I teased, "Maybe we should just leave the kids at home altogether."

"But then I can't tease you all afternoon like this.." My husband moved behind me grasping my hips while rubbing his body against my. With his mouth close to my neck he breathed hot air against there setting fire to my body melting me completely. He added, "And I was really looking forward to doing that"

Giggling I pressed back against him, "Then let's get the kids and find little ways to make John blush all night long."

Everyone except for me was bundled up in warm layers as we made our way to Second Beach. My temperature ran almost as high as the guys now being this far along in the pregnancy with the Quad's. At close to 108 degrees I could have been warm in a show storm.

Everyone brought their high boots to wade out into the water for some fishing. Even Kara's boyfriend, Kale, the Sorcerer who was pressing Marcus so hard for girl advice, came along to Second Beach for the evening. Marcus and Deni keep Nevi close to him so they could use his water magic to cheat gathering more fish. Ev and Jaki wanted to stay with Grandpa John cause even with cheating, John's superior skill gave them advantage. Sitting on a blanket on the beach with Bliss, I watched closely seeing John comfortably standing behind Em, Marcus's sister, with his arms around her showing her a proper cast with her fishing pole.

"Are they a couple?" Emily Uley asked. Since Sam was off with the Pack we invited her to spend the evening with us. She put down some more apple pieces of Sammy and Bliss to share.

"No," I said. "At least not that I know of."

"They make a cute couple." Emily Uley smiled.

"Shhhhh..." I laughed. "Don't let Marcus here you say that. His Father and his Sister?"

"But things are going well for you?" She raised her eyebrow looking at me.

"Besides the fear, the helplessness, all the bedrest, and limitations it's good." I smiled. "I'm ready not to be pregnant anymore."

"I'm sure you are." Emily laughed. "But then you have your hands full."

"Hands full I can deal with. At least I have my strength and power. Now... I can hardly get out of bed by myself."

"Welcome to the world of the mortal human." Emily laughed. "Don't let it get you down. You'll be back to having your super strength all back in no time."

Everytime I felt that there was a pain of guilt. I sacrificed my body, pushing it to the brink for dangerious tough missions where I could fight. This mission to carry these babies crippled me to weakness that was extremely hard for me to come to terms with. The more I had to lean on the people around me, the worse I felt. I just kept reminding myself it would be soon. This too shall pass.

Emily Uley and I prepared the fish to cook over the bonfire while Em and John set out the rest of the Fry Bread and Quileute Berry Jam. We also put some fresh sweet potato slices to cook over the flame, as well as a cauldron to make kettle corn. John took the boys to find some fresh clams to bury with seaweed for an extra treat. We all kept and eye on the Kara and her boyfriend who sat close together a distance away from the fire.

It was quite a feast we enjoyed as we all laughed hearing stories from Em about when Marcus was a boy. John shared one or two memories he had of me when I was young, as well as several of Sam and Emily Uley, and Kara. We helped the kids grill hot dogs and marshmallows on sticks. It was nice seeing Kale as a respectable young man when he lead Kara by the hand so they joined up around the fire. I already knew from the Community Center he was a great teen who always worked well with my kids. Being attached to Kara made everyone inspect him a bit closer.

I felt Marcus's jaw drop beside me when Em feed John a part of hotdog with her finger. Kissing his cheek, I rubbed his leg to calm him knowing this could get very interesting as his Father and Step Sister continue to co-habitate.

This was just what I needed. Leaning between Marcus's legs, I relaxed against him with Bliss curled up on my large stomach. Devi leaned in on one side, with Nevi on the other. Jaki was in Grandpa John's lap. We were all safely in our homeland protected by our people. As always, I was where I could breath - where I belonged - my sacred homeland. That gave me an idea.

Tonight was the night of the month when the Sorcerer's of the community all call upon the power of our ancestors to restrengthened the magical protection around the Reservation. This night ever month ever able Sorcerer gathered along the edged of La Push calling the power of our Ancestors. Drawing the sacred energy from James Island, we all used our wands with an ancient Quilleute spell to call up the power divined in the land, water, and sky to surround our Tribe protecting us from magical and other foe. No one except me had ever seen it before. Tonight would be a night they would never forget.
