In answer to the journal found at the post below:  I am not a coward, I never block anyone-no matter what they believe or how horrible what they say is.  I was invited to this post and then found I was blocked from posting!   lol  That is ok, but there are many with differing opinions and I couldn't let this post be left unanswered-in fairness to All PEOPLE in our World that have been tortured, annihilated, wiped-out, or other, in the name of "the Church" who wrongly attributes their crusading efforts to Christ Jesus-who never did anything like that, nor did He teach His Apostles or Disciples to do that, during the time He lived on Earth!

The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
“He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in another village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.
Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.
He never wrote a book.
He never held an office.
He never had a family or a home.
He didn’t go to college.
He never visited a big city.
He never travelled two hundred miles from the place where He was born.
He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness.
He had no credentials but Himself.
He was only thirty-three when the tide of public opinion turned against Him.
His friends ran away.
One of them denied Him.
He was turned over to His enemies and went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.
While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His garments, the only property He had on earth. When He was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.
Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man on this earth as much as that One Solitary Life.”

There is no doubt that Jesus Christ is the greatest man who has ever lived in all of history. He changed the world forever. When He was born, He transformed the very way we measure time. He turned aside the river of the ages out of its course and lifted the centuries off their hinges. His birthday, His Incarnation, touched and transformed time. Now the whole world counts time as Before Christ (BC) and AD (Anno Domoni - in the year of our Lord). Jesus Christ is the central figure of history. More books have been written about Jesus Christ than any other person in history.

The world before Christ was a world without hospitals, a world without charity, a world without respect for the sanctity of life. Hospitals were an innovation of Christianity. Hence the healing symbol of a cross represents hospitals. The nursing profession was founded by Christians such as Florence Nightingale out of devotion for Christ. One of history’s greatest humanitarian movements, the International Red Cross, was founded by Christians in response to the Scriptural injunctions to care for the sick and the suffering. Christians such as Dr. Louis Pasteur have fuelled some of the greatest practical advances in medicine. Pasteur has probably saved more lives than any other individual in history through his inventions.

The whole concept of charity was a Christian innovation. Benevolence to strangers was unknown before Christ. The teachings and example of Jesus Christ have inspired the greatest acts of generosity, hospitality, self-sacrifice and service for the poor, sick and needy over two thousand years.

Before the advent of Christianity every culture-practised slavery and human sacrifice - even the highly esteemed Greek and Roman civilisations. Child sacrifice was common among the pagan religions. The Aztec Empire in Mexico and Inca Empire in Peru engaged in slavery, ritual rapes and mass human sacrifice. Suttee, the burning of widows on the funeral pyres of their husbands, was common practice in Hindu India before the missionary William Carey arrived.

Slavery was eradicated as a result of the tireless efforts of Christians such as William Wilberforce and David Livingstone. Respect for life and liberty is a fruit of Christianity. Those promoting abortion, euthanasia and pornography are not offering us progress, but only a return to pre-Christian paganism.

The positive impact of Jesus Christ on the world cannot be overstated. Everything from education to human rights, from public health to economic liberty - the things we cherish most and many of the blessings we take for granted - all can be traced to the spiritual and the cultural revolution begun by Jesus Christ.

The irrefutable fact is that Christianity gave birth to modern science. The scientific revolution began with the Protestant Reformation and the Bible played a vital part in the development of scientific discovery. Every major branch of science was developed by a Bible believing Christian. The Bible essentially created science. When we get into a car, start the engine, turn on the lights, drive to a hospital, receive an anaesthetic before an operation, and have an effective operation done in a germ-free environment, we need to remember that we owe it all to Jesus Christ.

My Comment to MakeMyDay's journal: Jesus Christ was raised by His Jewish Family, a nation who was hated for having the best sanitary laws the world has known-They were given to them by God and they kept the Jews healthy so that Mary-Jesus' Mother-would be a healthy Woman giving birth to Jesuswho would become the Christ, our Savior.   To credit all the slavery, abortion, euthanasia ,  and pornography to "pagan" religion (did you know the Jewish faith has been called pagan, and  Christianity is pagan to other beliefs as well), Inca, Aztec anything else but Christian-is totally false and belies ignorance-whether knowingly or non-caring.  It is plain out-NOT truth.  Do you not remember that it is claimed that Christ was nailed to a CROSS - the symbol of Christianity-whose use has still been hailed as righteous -even though there is no proof of how it even looked?Christ taught Christians at John 4:24 that we MUST  worship in Spirit and Truth . Millions since have been killed by religions professing to be Christian - in pogroms where entire families of Jews and others just not ready to believe in Christ-were boarded up into their homes and set fire to - or in the Colosseum or in autos da fe where theatre props of fire were actually made for them to be thrown into a literal hell were built. Aren't those sacrificial rituals the same as any done by "pagan" Aztecs?  Children were taken from families before their families were murdered by "Christian Crusaders" and forced to sing in choirs of the church-forced to work for the church as slaves- they were even sent to Africa to become slaves to Africans-you really need to read your history about both the Italian Roman Empire as well as all of Europes practices under English rule-even America has condoned slavery-lots of Christian believers had slaves. I don't know why you were moved to post this, but think it out better next time-I don't usually want to post all this but this post just necessitated it.  We can only clean up what is done unjustly to others by exposing what has been done-who did it-and make sure they never do it again~ that is the only way-feigning ignorance of true history is what revisionist Fascists, Nazi's, communists, Islamists,  and some Native Tribes from all nations  do-when they want to pretend they weren't slaughtering thousands and millions-it isn't what Americans should practice-As the greatest world power allowed by God-we have the responsibility to set a better example for the entire world-just as Italy or England or any other world power has had the opportunity to do. To credit  Jesus Christ for all medicine today is almost heresy-he was born naturally, lived  naturally  and used power from God naturally, to heal-he NEVER STARTED a medical society.  If he condoned  it - don't you think he would or even should have?  Instead, people, in  an attempt to compete with God, did. Your post is too much of a blaring finger pointed at what you imagine to be  the problems causers. Please look for facts within the history books that have been here for centuries in every country-before the revisionists burn them all. Don't let my comment intimidate you-we have to help each other to look at a subject in a truthful manner- there was alot in this post that just isn't truthful or fair.

Aw hun dont let makemyday get under your skin... She has blocked several before. Unfortunately she is one of those who believe HER opinion is the ONLY opnion and the only one that counts.
