My son and I left out yesterday knowing that we will take the same route to my mother's home and of course the same way back. When we got to a certain point of a break in the road; one going the highway and the other the main street that we always  take to get to her house. For some reason unbeknownst to us, the police had our street blocked which forced us to go on Interstate 465 which surrounds our city. That was not  a problem with this however because I knew from here how to get to mmy mom's. Actually, it was the quicker way.

On the way back home, we noticed that the street that we were traveling was blocked. We had to make a another detour.

Because of this detour, it left us to take a different street; an unknown street and area to me. I had never driven this way before. This was way out of my comfort zone. I think the older I get, the more I like for things to stay the same. SMILE!

While driving on this street, I told my son that the Lord will help us find our way home. We kept driving and sure enough, we made it to an area that we knew. From this point, we knew where we were heading.

While taking this detour, I was thinking about the times when the Lord will take us on a journey that is so unfamiliar to us. Certain things that we used to do is blocked; can't go that route.

We do not know why these streets were blocked going to my mom and another route blocked on our way back.

     But, God knows!

It is the same with our lives. While we are traveling on this road of life, a way may be blocked and we may have to travel an unknown route. God knows what is happening down the road and He takes us on these detours to perhaps avoid pitfalls if there are any ahead. These detours may come across as being delays that may bring about disappointments or taking us out of our comfort zone like when  I was while traveling in that unknown area. Just  know that God is with us in this detour. He knows where we are going and how we are going to get there. Trust Him~

The great thing about all of this is His promise that He will never leave me or forsake me~
