Jon and Kate Gosselin have recently been under investigation with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor. They are suspected of violating child labor laws while filming TLC’s hit show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

What are your views on children being filmed for reality TV? Do you think they should be paid separately from the parents? Do you feel the show helps their life for the positive or the negative?

I believe that in the beginning, being on tv was great for this family. It gave them extra money for clothes, diapers, and other things that the children needed. Plus the sextuplets were too young to understand what was going on. They just took the show too far with all of the seasons and caring more about publicity. I believe that a few shows are fine for children being filmed. These poor children were filmed 24/7 and that is just too much. They have no privacy and that is just not fair to them!

Since I do not get to choose to take the poor children off of the air, I do believe that each child should be paid. They do not have to "act",per say, but they are required to let the nation into their home every week. They deserve to be paid just as much as their parents, the camera crew, etc!!!

I believe that this show helped their lives positively in the beginning, but now how are they expected to live normal lives??? Everything is negative. All eight children now attend school and have friends outside the home. Cara and Mady especially have to hear what their parents are doing! Plus, Jon and Kate are both bashing each other on national television where the children are bound to see it! In my opinion, their lives are now affected VERY negatively!

The kids were just filmed, doing stuff they were going to do either way. They're not "working". And the cameras were not in their home 24/7. It was just a few hours a week. Maybe a day or two for a few hours. Never 24/7.

I tihnk they should each have their own savings accounts with some of the money made deposited into each for when they turn 18, yea.

And I think Jon and Kate are being douchebags lately. But no, I do'nt think this is any sort of child labor issue.

I agree with you, Abbey. I think the show should finish up. It's not good for those kids at all.

It's pure greed keeping that show on.

I always wonder why John and Kate are in violation of the labor laws and not TLC or whatever network is filming them? Wouldn't it be the network violating the labor laws, not the parents?

As for the rest of the situation, I'm not even going to get into all of that, it's just a sad situation

I just saw wthis and I thought I would add my two cents worth...

Jon and Kate have taken this too far... they have ammassed more than their "fair share" of the money that came from the curiosity that led us to watch this show. Why not find other multiple birth families and share the wealth and the limelight that should have faded as soon as things got sour...

I have enjoyed the show but have not watched a single episode since the one where they announced their divorce. I have questioned their ethics since I realized they were taking advantage of businesses that were looking for free publicity.
