Boo Boo vs. Bow - Need opinions, please

So Maya has this huge rug burn on her head as a result of tipping her little rocking chair over face first onto the carpet. You know how rug burns go--they don't look so bad at first, but get worse as time goes by! (And usually leave a small scar. ugh.) School pictures are this Thursday. Here's my dilemma: let her take the picture scab and all and forever explain how she got that big boo boo on her head, or cover it with a bow and forever explain why she has a huge, strategically-placed bow??!

Bow?
P.S. It won't be this exact bow, but something similar.

The mark on her head is not tragic. I always feel that when you take a jpicture of a child you capture who they are at that moment...The bow looks cute too.

She looks very cute with the bow but the burn is no big deal and they can also retouch it so you don't see it. She's adorable anyway, burn or not ;-)
