Poll
Question: Is it cheating to email, call, text someone things like "I am falling hard for you." that is not your spouse?
Total Votes: 236
This is based on a husband/wife situation.
Your vote will help end a two-year dispute... I hope.
(The person that did this does not think it is and doesn't think the person they did it to should either. They asked me to do a poll on here so, please, vote popular in order to get several thoughts.)

Yeah I'd say so. would it be cheating if you went out with a male friend to dinner often???? taking away time from your partner, having drinks, .... emotional attachment which turns into something stronger, the texting, emails, phone calls would STOP or I'd get out!!! Good luck
Absolutely cheating, yes. Not physical cheating, but emotional cheating, for sure, which is every bit as damaging.
yes, maybe not in the same way as physical cheating but how long before this type of cheating becomes physical cheating?
Emotional cheating is worse than physical.
If I had to choose between the two, which I would rather have happen TO me, I'd choose physical.
Emotional is a TRUE connection.
My rule on cheating is...if a person is doing something with another person and they have to hide that action from their spouse/SO...NO MATTER WHAT THE ACTION IS...then it's cheating.
I would say, yes... I feel it is very misleading and this is where your conflict comes it. I have been happily married for 15 years. 1st marriage ended because of him cheating alot. Hope this helps. god Bless from MommaT
He (or she) obviously isn't "forsaking all others" like s/he vowed to do at your wedding, so yes, it's cheating.

Emotionally, I would say yes.
