Esmeralda has been severely constipated for almost 3 weeks. All that was coming out was small, little, firm pebbles. Her little hole down there is so red and raw looking like it almost might bleed.
We've tried the bicycle, the massaging of the abdominal muscles, pear/apple/prune juice, fiber, etc. and nothing is working.
So this morning it was a lot worse. She's been screaming and crying like she's colicky all over again trying to get her BM out. After trying everything, I even tried scraping it out with my fingers and even I couldn't budge it out. Eventually, after like 15 minutes of no progress, she just pushed it back in and gave up.
So I took her to same day services since her pediatrician wanted to wait until her next appointment on November 17th to do anything about it. This guy prescribed some suppositories for her. She has a fever of 100.3 so if these suppositories don't work over the next 24 hours, I have to take her in the ER so they can manually remove all the impact.
My poor baby girl.
Comments:
Have you tried Karo syrup in her bottle? Put a couple spoon fulls in it and it should work. That's the only thing that worked for me son. And don't worry...I learned that tip from my son's doctor so it's legit and safe. Use the clear looking syrup...not the dark stuff.
CLEAR KARO SYRUP!
My dd had the same exact problem and Karo was the ONLY thing that kept us from the ER's poop vacuum. Go get some and add 1 teaspoon per 12 ounces of milk/formula.
I actually had to bring my youngest in to the doctor's when he was around 6 mths old, b/c he could not pass this big poop ball. It was the same thing, a little pebble or it would get right there and he could not get it through.
I tried everything & after 3 days, I took him to the ped. & he actually took a soft tip prod, and scraped a little to break it up, and got some out. It stuck, it was very nerveracking too, b/c you don't want to risk tearing the anal walls. But once he intervened, I got home, and it couldn't stop pooping for like 6/8 hours. It was all coming out.
Sometimes a piece just gets lodged in there and dries up so bad, nothing will move it! Go to the ER.

I feel your pain. My son had constipation issues for 18 months. You are in my thoughts.
