Is there any one out there that knows about Debt Settlement Companies?

I need some information about Debt Settlement companies. My brother is in the midst of using one and I'm really not familiar with them to give him any advice. This company is called F.I. R. E. (financial Independence and Research Education) not only do they settle your debt but they repair your credit. Has anyone had any experience with them or know what to expect in using one. I would appreciate it.

Highly recommend visiting www.daveramsey.com before you use this type of service. I believe he has a FAQ section that addresses these companies and the ones that are useful vs not.
