President Obama,

I do not have $34,000.00 to spend so that my husband and I might dine with you. I am not a big corporate CEO, a Union president or a Community Organizer. I am not a dictator, a tyrant or a former Communist party leader. I do NOT find Mao, Chavez or Che to be great political philosophers. I am not a Democrat, and I did not vote for you. I AM the daughter of AF MSgt who served 24 ½ years in the Strategic Air Command during Korea and Vietnam. I AM the wife of an active duty AF Major with 25 years of service and two deployments to Iraq, and as such, I think I have a RIGHT to have your ear...for services (sacrifices) rendered.

I just saw a clip of you campaigning for a job you already have wherein you made the comment: "I will not tolerate..." I found that a stunning comment from a man who professes to be a Constitutional scholar. You will not tolerate? It sounds as if you are under the assumption that you are a dictator to the Congress or, indeed, the American people. The comment received great cheers from your most fervent supporters, but some of us are very aware that, in point of fact, WE, the PEOPLE, govern this country. As a member of THE PEOPLE and the GOVERNING BODY of this country, let me tell you what WE WILL NOT TOLERATE:

  • We will not tolerate a president who THINKS himself emperor, who will not abide differing opinion or opposition to his perspective, who will use his position of power and influence to attempt to marginalize dissent.
  • We will not tolerate czars in the Executive who threaten to circumvent the people with regards to regulations or policies that do not pass the muster of our capitalist economic policy or the individual rights guaranteed us in the Constitution.
  • We will not tolerate a Congress or an administration THRUSTING huge debt upon us and our posterity.
  • We will not tolerate a CiC who seems disinterested in prosecuting a war with an eye to WIN, who refuses to even acknowledge the advice and requests of military personnel on the ground in a war zone.
  • We will not tolerate a president or his staff actually taking the time to go after PRIVATE sector media for having the audacity to report to the American people as whistle-blowers or watchdogs of the government: I think attempts of sedition, today, rise to the level of high crimes or misdemeanors for the threat they pose to our first amendment right to free speech.
  • We will not tolerate the ABUSE of taxpayer funds for propaganda as has been attempted with people in this administration through the government funded schools and the NEA.
  • We will not tolerate US sovereignty being subordinated to any international body whether on environment, free speech, trade, or over our judiciary: I think this would rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors in that the members of the Executive and the Congress took oaths to uphold and defend the Constitution which expressly prohibits the subordination of our elected voice to any other entity.
  • We will not tolerate the government take over of the airwaves, the internet, or print or televised media: I think it might rise to the level of a high crime or misdemeanor should administrative czars determine to strip us of our free speech through the regulation of the free market.
  • We will not tolerate Congress or the administration passing bills that have not been presented to the American public with ALL of the expenditures clearly analyzed and expressed.
  • We will not tolerate Congress or the administration passing bills that circumvent our Constitutional RIGHTS to make personal healthcare and purchasing decisions for ourselves: I think the same amendment you, Mr. President, cited during the debates as Constitutional support for abortion, would protect MY right to keep YOU out of ANY of my health decisions, not just my reproductive decisions.
  • We will not tolerate bills being passed and signed without having been fully read and debated on the floors of both houses.
  • We will not tolerate the AG insinuating himself into states' rights issues: example, North Carolina as a State has the RIGHT to print up their ballots in whatever manner the people have decided is acceptable to them. The Constitution does NOT give this power to the federal government, but gives ALL such powers to the State, ‘party identification' not being expressly laid out in the Constitution.
  • We will not tolerate threats to our second amendment right to bear arms.
  • We will not tolerate the use of government funded web sites being USED to generate adulation of the president or his agenda. It's creepy beyond the pale that anyone's ego would be THAT demanding.
  • We will not tolerate government take over of private sector business or business interests.
  • We will not tolerate further the GENERATION of crises intended to lay the groundwork for government intervention into the private sector or private lives of American citizens. There IS no healthcare crisis requiring growing the scope of government; there WAS no economic crisis that required the actions taken by this government. We are onto the tactic. It will not work anymore. It's an abuse of the trust of the people..yet another impeachable offense.

Some of us are aware, Mr. President, that Nancy is not mopping up anything that you and she didn't help to create. Some of us are aware, Mr. President, that the ONLY ‘mopping up' needed when you took office was of the run-away spending by Congress, the SEC, and the GSEs: ALL played a role in the economic recession. Some of us are aware, Mr. President, that it is Congress mandated with appropriation and spending. So, rather than angrily pointing your finger at the minority party, a little contrition from YOU and Nancy--the majority party--would not only be nice, but more appropriate. And, some of us are aware, Mr. President, that the Executive Branch does not oversee the Congress, but the Congress is to speak for THE PEOPLE. When you say you will not tolerate what the other party has to say on issues of such great import, you are saying to all of us in this country who elected THOSE representatives that you will not TOLERATE US. You are saying that you refuse to hear from the people for whom those Republicans speak. It would do you well, Mr. President, to remember who works for whom. This isn't YET Communist China, and you are not Mao.

Perhaps the next time you get together with your Hollywood fans for a $34,000.00 opportunity to have you direct their next entertainment venture, you might consider the irony of this particular group's gleeful acceptance of your McCarthyesque blacklisting of your opponents and declared intolerance of political ideology not in line with your own.

In 2010, WE the PEOPLE will make KNOWN our dismay by sweeping up. In 2012, we are MORE THAN HAPPY to "GRAB A MOP" and set about CLEANING HOUSE.

Of course, send it out to whomever you like. How about you include the contact information of the House Speaker, WH, Senate Majority leader and a few others in case they are inspired to write and send their own...

thanks guys! I would LOVE to see YOUR letters. We need to FLOOD them with them.

I don't associate myself with any party and I think this is a very well written letter. You really got your point across and you didn't resort to name calling either. Great post!you rock
