I am so very upset with the health insurance company I have!! They first started denying my birth control that the doctor switched me to. The birth control is Yaz. I found out from a pharmicist friend that few insurance companies cover Yaz because of one, the expense and two, the many issues that are connected to it. Okay. I went back to the doctor and he decided to put me on the generic form of Seasonel (?? on spelling). The insurance denied that as well because of the expense. Well... I'm running out options. It is either one of these two birth control pills or I go with an IUD. I really don't want an IUD for many reasons I'm not going to go through. Otherwise, last option is Novasur. I'm hoping not to have that option so early in life yet. Why must the insurance company decide what I need to be on? I go to a doctor for a reason. I'm not going to see an insurance company employee for my medical reasons. They have no right!
They have also denied my son's ADHD medication that he's been on for going into three years. Why now? It makes no sense! They have decided that they will no longer cover an extended release med. They think that an immediate release medication will be just fine for my son. Because they know anything about my son? What asses!! Because of this, I've had to put him on an immediate release med. It's a lower dosage and only lasts up to 8hrs. His extended release meds lasted up to 12hrs. He's also been having all kinds of problems at school and home since he's been on it. He is up all night because he is too wired to go to sleep at a proper time. He hasn't gotten the sleep he normally gets. He has been so angry lately. Angry at everything and everyone! I hate this. I don't like the person my son is on these meds. He is acting out in school. He nearly got expelled almost two weeks ago. Today I was informed that due some of his actions he will be getting half a day of ISS. The school has noticed a huge change in him that has gone very negative from what it was last month and up to two weeks ago.
It is so frustrating! All I want to do is scream! I have yelled at the insurance people. I know... doesn't get me anywhere. But it does make me feel better that I yelled at someone.
