An Amber Alert has been issued for a Marion County teen who may have been taken against her will.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says the man who may be traveling with her was earlier seen trying to pose as a student in Kansas high schools. Earlier this month the Associated Press reported Riley County police were looking for a man who went into area schools posing as a potential transfer student and left quickly when confronted by school officials.
17-year-old Tara Simhiser was last seen Tuesday. While the case was first reported as a runaway, authorities now believe she may have been taken against her will.
Simhiser was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark shirt. She is a student at Hillsboro High School
She may be traveling with Rojelio Hernandez, a 21-year-old Hispanic male. Hernandez is 5-8, 155 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Hernandez was believed to have been in Marion County the past couple of weeks. Authorities are concerned there may have been some violence between Hernandez and Simhiser this week.
They may be in a 1990s light blue Honda Accord with a broken tail light.
They may be headed to Wichita, Topeka or Odessa, Texas.
