Coming up with a title for my new book has been harder than writing it.

My editor approved the ms. back in April, but is still deciding on a title. As far as I know, her current favorite is THE OTHER LIFE, so that's what I've been calling it.

And believe it or not, the pub date is probably going to be a year from January. Crazy, right? That decision is completely out of my hands, but the economy is still so bad it's probably for the best.  (The book is coming out first in hardcover, and it's darn hard to get people to plunk down $25 for a book in even the best of times.)

Anyway, I have a Publishers Marketplace page that has a short blurb about the book. It also has a link to a more detailed description. If you want to take a look, click here.

This sounds like an interesting book. I am reading one right now, that sounds very similar (but different) .. it's by Allison Winn Scotch and is called "time if my lfie". The  main character here wakes up one day, seven years in her past and still with her ex-boyfriend. I am barely half way through the book, but know that thoughts of the daughter, she had in her original life, keep creeping in.  Good luck with your newest book!

Yes, I'm aware of Allison's book, and was even a little alarmed when I first saw the description in Publishers Marketplace. But I realize that the books are so different that it shouldn't be an issue.

Sun, I have two books published and one more under contract. I'm working on a fourth but am still having major problems with it. My advice is to give yourself the freedom to write a crappy first draft. No pressure! Just get those paragraphs flowing ...

Darling, I do like The Other Life.  It's a handy Cliff's Notes approach to the book.  It says, "We'd surely like your $25, so here's what the whole thing's about, see, in 3 words."  *giggle*  It has a certain genius, you know?

You can always do my visual artist cop-out, you know.  *wink*  When my friends & I cannot properly title our work, we simply name them Untitled:  No. whatever (pick a number, or don't).  *giggle*

Alice already has the looking glass, so you can't have that one.  Pity.  *wink*

Please don't worry, darling.  I have full confidence that your loyal readership & your fans & your friends will have no difficulty commanding the universe to produce for them the $25 necessary to possess this first edition of your work & to make your new book a raving success.

Trust.  There is enough in the universe for absolutely everyone.  You are anxious & you are exhausted, so the title difficulty may seem more worrisome than it really is, love.

Rest when you can & know that we love you so much & cannot wait to read all about the next wonderful world you've created, sweet one!

Hugs...Ceci
