So, I'm sure everyone has heard by now that Disney is offering parents a refund on Baby Einstein DVD's bought in the last 5 years because they don't make babies smarter.
Well, DUH! A DVD is not going to make your baby smarter, even with Einstein in the title.
And of course, lots of people are applauding this decision because of the whole 'your baby / toddler shouldn't watch TV' thing.
I must be a bad mommy because we let Emily watch TV - not that she really watches it that much, as she would rather play if she isn't tired. I personally think that TV doesn't have any effect on developmental milestones since Emily has always been on time or ahead with her milestones.
We do make sure not to watch anything violent or scary - we watch a lot of Playhouse Disney and other cartoons. Emily loves anything that has music so her favorite show is 'Imagination Movers' - she dance along with the songs.
She also likes her Baby Einstein videos - though we don't watch them that often. We will probably get more in the future!

The Eisnstein movies are OK, the music is nice. They are better then TV shows. Everything in moderation. Personally I find them soothing.
